Overview

A BRISK, BREEZY AND FUN SCIENCE FICTION, ACTION ADVENTURE, ROMANTIC TIME TRAVEL LOVE STORY.

If you could save your true love from certain death, would you?
And if you had to travel back 55 years in time to do this, could you?
And if changing fate was the result, should you?

Ed Drummond, unknowingly and suddenly gifted with dream-activated time travel powers, faced those questions at a moment of truth and began a one-man rescue mission across time to save his true love, Nan Orland. Brought together by the incredible circumstances of a 1952 Super DC-3 airplane crash at Denver’s Stapleton Airfield in which Nan dies, resulting in an SOS signal Ed responds to from 2007. Falling in love with each other was destined, but who’s pulling the strings? Ed, determined to save his new love, gets caught up in a recurring dream versus reality conflict so intense that anything is possible…even love across time! As time runs out Ed and Nan’s fates are changed forever.

Meet the Author

Lance Stouffer first published a children’s book, ‘Ode to Miss Jasmine Cat’ in 2003 as a whimsical remembrance to the family cat. It was featured in the January 2005 issue of ‘Cat Fancy’ magazine along with the brilliant illustrations of Chicago artist Brian Bourke. The old day job interfered with further serious writing until an early morning epiphany in 2007 compelled the writing of ‘Changed Fate,’ a romantic time travel, action adventure love story with a lot of paranormal tossed in. This is the first book of a three part time travel series dealing with changing fate. Already there is interest in the screen play.

Interviewed in March 2010 by Orlando’s ‘Orange Splash Magazine,’ he answered these questions about the book ‘Changed Fate’:

Orange Splash – Tell us a little about the story?
Author – This is a love story that exemplifies the best in romantic time travel novels and is in the same genre as the book 'Bid Time Return' by science fiction writer Richard Matheson, which was made into the 1980 movie classic ‘Somewhere in Time’ starring Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour. My central characters, Nan Orland and Ed Drummond, have been unknowingly searching for each other their whole lives, separated only by time. They are finally brought together by the incredible circumstances of a 1952 airplane crash at Denver’s Stapleton Airfield.

Orange Splash – Who would be your ideal reader?
Author – Anyone who enjoys action adventure novels with a large splash of romance and science fiction or paranormal activity tossed in. I barely scratched the surface of all the concepts involved in writing ‘Changed Fate’, but focused on bringing my central characters together across time against all odds, with a twist of fate also tossed in. As Americans we always like a winner and the underdog overcoming extreme obstacles. If readers like a positive outcome against impossible odds, then this story and series will make them smile.

Splash – Anything you wish to add to our conversation today?
Author – Rescue missions are heroic. Answering a SOS call across time and attempting a rescue mission takes kahunas. Can I say that? I wrote this book for all you lovers and dreamers that can see all the possibilities out there with a smile! You will thoroughly enjoy ‘Changed Fate

The story was very interesting, I just felt that it could have been even better if it wasn't so rushed. The author could have gone into so much more detail especially at the ending. Overall good book & would recommend.
