    A Truly Charming Series!

    Changeling / 978-1-429-53812-1

The second in the "Sisters of the Moon" series, "Changeling" switches the narrative point of view from the older sister Camille (seen in "Witchling") to the middle sister Delilah. This point of view change characterizes the series - each book is written from a different sister's point of view and every three books, the cycle begins again - and underscores the essential role that character development fills in this charming series.

Whereas Delilah - a half-human, half-Fae Werecat who accidentally turns into a 10-pound tabby cat whenever stressed or startled - was in the first book a rather delicate and naive pollyanna determined to believe the best in even her darkest enemies, we see through this second book that such a one-sided description of her personality falls completely short of describing the full person. As the quiet middle child, Delilah struggles frequently to express and assert herself to her sisters, and while she is certainly determinedly kind-hearted, the events of the first novel have left their mark on her, and she is no longer as trusting and careless as she seemed before to be.

Delightfully, the plot of this novel picks up almost directly where the last left, and it's gratifying to see that no Reset Buttons have been pressed - all the events of the previous novel have a strong bearing on this one. Camille's lovers continue to jockey for favorable positions, Chase and Delilah are still working out the dynamics of their fledgling relationship, and the demons are still after the Spirit Seals and revenge. It's nice to see a series that isn't afraid to move forward with the overarching plot, and doesn't rely on the usual "several months later" time jumps to try to wrap up dangling plot threads behind the scenes.

Much to its credit, "Changeling" follows in the footsteps of "Witchling" with more careful world building - Delilah is able to examine several different approaches to living among humans that the "Earthside" Supes (Supernaturals) have developed. Galenorn has put a lot of thought into such problems as infertility and inbreeding among the Earthside Supes who have, until recently, been totally isolated among humans and their kind. The new enemies, also, are imaginative and frightful, and a lot of work has gone into making them plausibly strong and scary.

I recommend this series strongly for anyone who enjoys supernatural thrillers, particularly ones that focus on character development and world building.

    Better than the First

This book caught my attention from the beginning. I love the authors take from this character! Delilah is the second sister and shape-shifter of the group. While she seems to be the youngest when considering her nature and naivety, Delilah is abruptly introduced to the real world. Having to summon one of the Elemental Lords to help her protect the local were-puma pride, Delilah finds herself marked as a Death Maiden. Not only will she be responsible for crossing souls over but she now has a second shape (a panther)! All in all, this is turning out to be an interesting series. Started out a little slow but it's picking up speed. I'm started Darkling tonight!

    Not that great

I was really disappointed by this book. I bought this book after first reading her short story in the anthology "Inked", and after reading reviews and seeing that it was rated with 4 1/2 stars. Usually a 4 1/2 star reading equates to an awesome book, but not in this case.

Her writing is very immature and not cohesive. I just wasn't able to immerse myself into her world and connect with her main characters. The sisters come across as one-dimensional caricatures, not the complex powerful women they should be. I agree with a previous poster, that the sex was gratuitous and unnecessary. I would say it even detracted from the story.

I'm an avid urban fantasy/paranormal romance reader, but I just can't call myself a fan of this one. Galenorn has some great fans, and she is blessed for that. I'm just really unimpressed with this one. I might give her another chance, but only if I find it in a library (not spending $$ on another one of these).

    Not totally satisfying

I picked up this series after having read several of the other "Paranormal Pomance" novels out there, and while I will read the rest of the series, I must say I was dissapointed w/ the books to date.
"Changling" reads like it was written by an 18 year-old who was trying to replicate the style of Laurell K. Hamilton in a combination of the "Merry Gentry" and 'Anita Blake: Vampire Hunter" series, but falling short. While the Author has certainly done her research on the various customs/rituals/folklore needed for the book, the application of that research seems to have been employed haphazardly at best. This is one romance book which I feel would have benefited from NOT having included any sex. It just seems out of place and poorly executed. There is a great amount of time spent building sexual tension between the characters, but when they finally have the chance to release that tension, the result is lackluster and leaves me wondering why bother.

Overall, if you have an afternoon to kill, the book is a worthwhile read, but don't expect too much from it.

This series just keeps getting better and better. I highly recommend this book to anybody that likes a mix of magic/fantasy, action, romance, and suspence. This title is number 2 in a series and I am definitely hooked on this author's work.

    highly recommened

Great series, they kept me interested and they flow very well. The way the author put them together each sister has a book and then its starts over each sister being the star of a book. I would recommend any of this series but if you read them in order they will make more since.

I really enjoyed reading this sisters side. I liked it a lot. A bunch of stuff goes down and leaves you wanting to read the last book to see how they all end up.

    So very blah...

I've read the first two novels of this series becasue I enjoy the genre and I picked them up at half price. I can't not finish a book, or believe me, this one would have been out the door. I didn't like the first one, but decided to give the second book a chance in case the author's writing style matured over the course of writing a second novel. Boy was I wrong. These books are just disjointed. It's hard to imerse yourself into the fictional world because it is so stop and start. The dialoge is painful and the plot is dry. I don't know if the story gets better, but I'm not spending any more money on these books.

    Even better.......

This is the second book in the series and I think I liked it better than the first. The characters are more defined and fleshed out. I like the way the author switches to the storying telling from the point of view of a different sister based on the book rather than have one character always telling the story. If the author does this for everybook it will definetly add to the series appeal.

    Kittens Kaboodle

I loved this book, I didn't want to put it down. I loved how Delilah is fragile yet dangerous, the storyline and the world Yasmine has created. Very excitinig and original. I would've liked more flirting/sex between Delilah and Zach but Chase filled in nicely. Can't wait for Menolly's turn in book 3.

    changeling review

I recommend changeling for people that like a romance/fantasy novel its more of an adult book. I give it a 4 because i like the story plot and how the main character learns to cope with her problems. She basically learns about her self while trying to stop a major threat. A facinating novel in my opinion.

The Changeling by Yasmin Galenorn is written very well. A well-crafted portrait of the D¿Artigo sisters. I felt all they went through in Witchling and now even more so in Changeling, which is Delilah¿s story. Delilah is a were and turns into a beautiful tabby when she becomes stressed or at the full moon. Delilah is torn between her love a FBH (Full Blood Human) and a handsome Were Puma, who has come to her and her detective agency to find out who/what is killing members of his pack. This story takes over where Witchling leaves off and preps you for Darkling. Yet each of the books could really stand on it own. Like any other series, they go best when read in order. I thoroughly enjoyed this book--each story takes me deeper into the D'Artigo Sisters' world, and I cannot wait to read more of Ms. Galenorn¿s books.

What I thought about the book

The book was really good and I couldn't put it down from the moment I picked it up. The details were so good and the sexy parts were good to. (a little to sexy, but still great.)I cant wait till the next one comes out, but I'll keep reading the first two till it does.

    Another Fantastic Read!

At first glance Delilah is a sweet little tabby cat who has to bargain with a mouse to free her tail from a branch. But Delilah is a lot more than your tabby cat shape-shifter when she's asked by a were-puma pride to investigate a series of killings. Delilah shows much more than her sweet kitty self as she and her sisters witch Camille and vampire Menolly discover that there's a whole lot more going than they ever expected. This second book in the Sisters of the Moon series is awesome, moving on from Camille's story to Delilah with her human lover and a need to show she's just as tough as her sisters. In Changeling, she did just that. I can't wait to read Menolly's story!

    Love this series!

This series (starting with Witchling) just keeps getting better. We learn more about all three of the sisters - not just Delilah, whose book this really is. We learn more about their past, their relationships, their never-quite-accurate-as-they-want-them-to-be-powers. But most of all, Changeling is crafted beautifully and I love Delilah. She's one tough pussy cat.

Wow. Just wow. As a sequel, Changeling doesn't disappoint. At all. Witchling, the first book in the Otherworld series is a very entertaining read. This second book, however, will blow you away. It's fast-paced, hot, funny ... and oh did I mention the Were-spiders? *shudders and grins* That's right, creepy little spiders, and honkin' huge spiders. Yasmine enjoyed writing this book and it shows on the way the words just flow off the page. Even though there is so much for the D'Artigo sisters to focus on (a civil war in Otherworld, demons trying to take over Earthside, personal jobs, issues, and each other) the whole thing is clean. Never once did I have to flip back through the book to figure out what was going on. The blurb on the cover is the only thing wrong with it. I don't think Yasmine Galenorn 'promises' to be one of the bright lights of the paranormal genre. I think she's already there. The Otherworld Series is an exciting magical ride through an Earth I almost wished I lived in! Well, except for the spiders. *grins*
