I read this series recently and found the books both educational and withdrawing, not only do these books teach good lessons, grab the reader with daring cliff-hangers, and teach the reader about the 1813 war, but shows different perspectives on what a girl the targeted reader's age would do and what it would be like in that situation. Not only is this book exciting and educational, it is also plain out a good read and a great conclusion to the Caroline Series. I think girls 9-12 would find this book and the rest of the series very enriching.
