Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Eleanor Heldrich
This mid-size pop-up book (9 ½ inches by 9 ½ inches) brings back the quirky brother and sister pair whose parents often resort to asking young Charlie to help his very determined younger sister Lola do things she does not want to do or is not ready to do, in this case, going to bed. She has reasons to counter all his suggestions. She isn't sleepy. A lion is using her toothbrush. Whales are in the bathtub. A hippopotamus is in her bed. The pop-ups and other actions are as whimsical as the characters, and most of them are large, making them sometimes frustrating to operate. Recommendation: an adult should go through the book beforehand to loosen the movable parts and ease them back into place. Reviewer: Eleanor Heldrich
