"An unforgettable read! This charming novel brings us into another world--of dragons, wizards, spells, schools, and a heroine coming of age. I highly recommend it for all ages!"
--Morgan Rice, #1 Bestselling author of THE SORCERER'S RING

CHARLOTTE TWEED & THE SCHOOL FOR ORPHANED DRAGONS (Book #1) tells the story of Charlotte Tweed, a 15 year old orphan who longs to know who she truly is, and who her true parents are. Charlotte is kicked out of every foster home she is sent to, and living with a cruel family and sent to a school where she is bullied, Charlotte ducks off the fire drill line one day and cuts school. During this fateful walk she meets Tom Throtteldon, a wizard from another land, and he tells her he’s come to take her home.

Charlotte is brought to the land of Annarunnus, the land, and is led to the famous Bellins School for Magic, where she must train to learn who she is and how to use her unique powers. Charlotte also discovers that a rare and precious event has taken place: dragon eggs have been found, hatching just two days before Charlotte’s arrival. Each student receives their own baby dragon to bond with, tame, and train.

At Bellins Charlotte meets new friends, and struggles to discover herself and to bond with her obstinate baby dragon. She also meets Tyron, one of the handsome Outcasts. But dating is forbidden at Bellins, and they will have to decide if they will risk it all for love.

    Get An Editor!

This could be a delightful story if a competent editor worked on it prior to publication. It is full of spelling and grammatical errors as well as misplaced words and lapses in continuity. Is this meant to be for adults or children? It sometimes seems aimed at an older readership but in the next page is dumbed down for elementary school readers.

Blaine Skye constantly repeats herself both in the same sentence and from page to page, most annoying. The kids seem to live in a state of hyper-excitement too, clapping, cheering, dancing, do they ever settle down and relax? Maybe a few meals containing meat would help or is this world vegan? What is with all the dogmatic rules? No dating, roommates can speak to each other, everyone must do exactly as they are told all the time or dire consequences will result. How is this different from Charlotte's life in the "real" world? I would not recommend this book to my nieces, 9 and 12 years of age nor can I, in good conscious, recommend it to adult readers who are fans of the Harry Potter book. Perhaps a good editor can tighten the story enough to make it hang together but until that happens, it is just a mishmash of unconnected ideas and vague themes and the characters need to be firmed up in the author's mind before it is again presented to the public.

There is some fine fantasy fiction available but CHARLOTTE TWEED & THE SCHOOL FOR ORPHANED DRAGONS (Book #1) is not among them. Don't waste your time, money, or Nook memory on this turkey! For an exciting peek into a cohesive alternate universe where magic works and strange happenings abound, dip into the Disc World series by Terry Pratchett or check out Roger Zelazny's Amber series.

I can normally forgive spelling/grammar mistakes as I become engrossed in a story. As others have stated, the details of the story are lacking. When I say details, how the magik happens (even as the powers of the person increase), the rules that the characters have to follow, and the personality/characteristics of the character. At times, it seemed that the personality of the characters abruptly changed and are almost contrary to who they were a few pages ago. One of the things that bothered me, and I have no idea why. In the story things ended up being named "Corridor 1, Corridor 2, Cavern 5, Cavern 6.. etc. Just seem like numerical names really did not add any depth.

I I hate to be negative, I feel there is some potential here. I just wish there was more meat to the bones of this story.

Book description edplains wntire story, very unpolished

The idea of the story is good but unfortunatly still needs a lot of fine tuning. Reading the book felt more like reading the editorial summary, details weren't very well explained, things didnt really connect. I found myself skimming most of the book and knowing wxactly what was going on. The book description also describes th entire book, there's no other important things or endings just what's in the description. I was very disappointed. It's not worth getting the second one. It needs to go through editing some more and have more detail or depth added to it.

    Needs more work

The story is interesting, the writing not so much. In my opinion, this story isn't really quite ready for publishing.

Did anyone read and edit this book before publishing? It is riddled with errors, and it is hard to tell if is is the author's immaturity or the main character's that is coming through. Contains some good ideas that could have been well developed. I could not recommend it in it's current form, however; I resented the waste of my reading time.
