Overview

Can a romance develop between a Hellish Vampire Blood-Hunter and a Heavenly Light-Bearer? Living a life of darkness and forever damned, Tabbruis has wandered the Earth alone aimlessly, living through many historical events in constant search for the place he belongs. Suddenly, he feels a pull to the US and plagued with visions of a beautiful woman. Her smile and light leaves him wanting more. What Tabbruis finds is so much more than just a pretty face; he finds his reason for his very existence. Charmeine just came to Earth, waking up alone and unable to remember anything. She has no idea who or what she is, let alone the danger which is about to find her. The Blood-Hunters want to destroy the one light which could end all darkness as we know it. When Tabbruis meets Charmeine the magic is immediate. They are polar opposites and clash together in a dramatic way, their powers and attraction growing exponentially the more this star-crossed couple are thrown together to fight. Separated for hundreds of years, with no memory of whom or what they are, their mission looks pretty grim. Their love is strictly forbidden. Like most good things, love comes with a price. They begin the journey to redemption for the Blood-Hunters and Light-Bearers and realize they are not alone. Will Charmeine and Tabbruis fulfill their destinies? Will they realize their importance in both the Blood-Hunter and Light-Bearer world?

Awesome! From start to finish!

This book draws you in from the first page. It starts off with preparations for a great battle in heaven and continues completely through with battles on earth. Charmeine and Tabbruis were made for each other in heaven and when they are separated for hundreds of years, with no memory of who or what they are, their mission looks pretty grim. But you will learn that where there is love, there is always the strength to go on.There is no down time in this stor

Meet the Author

Emily Guido is a New Paranormal Romance Author.

One day, Emily got an idea of two very star-crossed very different people who had to battle Heaven and Hell to be together and needed to have their story told. "CHARMEINE" was inspired and she never dreamed a week later she would have over a 100,000 words written.

When Emily writes, it is similar to you or I watching a movie. She pictures the characters in her head going through vivid descriptions of each scene. There are so many nuances going through her mind that she cannot type fast enough.
Emily has written 4 more books besides "CHARMEINE."
The Second Novel in "The Light-Bearer Series," is "MACTUS."
The Third Novel in "The Light-Bearer Series," is "ACCENDO."
The Fourth Novel in "The Light-Bearer Series," is "SEDITIOUS."
The Fifth Novel in "The Light-Bearer Series," is "RANSOM."

These novels continue the romance and struggles of Charmeine and Tabbruis and their family!

Emily is currently writing the Sixth Novel in "The Light-Bearer Series," "CONUNDRUM," to be released in the winter of 2013.

Emily works at a college full-time and pursuing her Master of Business Administration full-time also. Between Work, MBA School, Writing, and taking care of family, Emily runs on coffee and determination!

Recap: Tabbruis and Charmeine were in Heaven... all of a sudden Tabbruis wakes up not remembering who he was or Charmeine about 8000 years ago. Now he's roaming the Earth as a reformed vampire. Flash-forward to current day. He's remembering a face but not Charmeine. How they meet is really action-packed. But when they do, stars collide. This is the beginning to a series of five books.... so be prepared to be wanting to read more! My Thoughts: I don't have a lot of time to read, so when I read books they have to be really good. I wasn't so sure because "Charmeine" was written by an unknown author. I read "Charmeine" because my daughter said, "Mom, you have to read this book, you won't put it down!" Seeing my teenage daughter so into a book, I thought I should see for myself. I'm glad I did because I really got into the story too and practically stayed up all night reading. "Charmeine" was a compelling book that I could not put down once I started it. It had action in it and warped into something unexpected to me because it is pegged as a Paranormal Romance but it really had a lot more to offer. My favorite part of the book is the historical mythology that the author created with the characters. There were many flashbacks. But they were used well in the plot. For the beginning of a series, "Charmeine" isn't a bad read at all. I am going to be reading "Mactus" the second book. I don't know what the heck other people are reading, but this book has got Mystery, Humor, Paranormal, Romance, Historical, Action and Adventure. I wouldn't hesitate recommending it, I'm glad I read it. 5 out 5 Star Review for "Charmeine"

Book exchanged for an honest review:Tabbruis (Tab) Hunter, former Angel of Self-Determination and now Blood Hunter (Elder), has been living on Earth for over 8000 years. He's been living a lonely life wandering from place to place. Yet now he feels exhaustive pull to East Coast namely New York City. He stays at the Ritz-Carlton in Long Island and needs to have driver familiar with area. The driver is Shane Kelly has to tell his best friend that he can't make Billy Joel Concert like they planned too. Charleen (Char) Davis is disappointed that Shane can't go to the concert with her but decides to go anyway. Char is attacked by Blood Hunter, who feeds on human blood instead of animals, and Tab rescues her but not before a blinding light hits the Blood Hunter. Will Char admit her connection with Tab? What are these feelings Tab has for Char? Will Char discover her past? Are Char and Tab star-crossed lovers? Your answers await you in Charmeine. A new and interestig take on Angels and Demons to say the least. I'm excited about this book and characters. The author did a wonderful job of world building. I'm anxious to learn more about this world. I really enjoyed Tab as alpha male and protector. Shane is a really good secondary character that brings alot of spirit to this book. Char isn't your typical heroine. She's smart. funny, honest, and true to herself. I look forward to reading the next installment.

I began reading The Light-Bearer series and have completed the first 3 books in 3 days. I've thoroughly enjoyed Emily's Guido's wonderful paranormal tale. Tabbrius & Charmeine are complete opposites - one is a Blood Hunter and the other a Light Bearer. They were meant to be sword enemies, only to kill eachother whenever possible. But the pair have a past; one that unfolds throughout the novel. Their story is unlike any other that I've read in that past, and that makes it that much more remarkable. By the time I reached the end of the first book, I craved much more of this wonderful series. And so I continued on to the next. You truly have a gem here Emily!

Emily Guido Charmeine Light-Bearer Series #1 This book was a great start to the series, and I’m sure there is so much to come from it. As with all first books, it sets the scene nicely to the trials and tribulations that Charmeine & Tabbruis will have to overcome in order to be together. Their destinies are intertwined, and this is shown throughout the book, but at times I felt the characters accepted everything a little too easily esp. Shane. It was an enjoyable read, well written and nicely paced, it is definitely one to keep an eye on. I received an e-copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I think I found a new series that I am in love with...The Light-Bearer Series! WOW! Blown away from the first book. I had an old edition but the author gave me the new edition and that is what I am reviewing. This is going to be a great series, because I was up all night reading it on my iPad and could not put it down.  Why did I like it so much?  Well, first and foremost, the author explains each character and doesn't introduce a lot of new characters at once.  I was taken in by Tabbruis' violent transformation into doing good.  Also, the build-up of Tabbruis and Charmeine (aka Charleen) meeting was wonderful. The writing was wonderful. The POV was multi on the page but it was handled well and quotes like this made me in LOVE! "Never having a family, he hung his head and loathed his hunger. Now, this little girl had no one, just like he had no one." I felt his every emotion, and I LIKED it... a lot.  Then this has to be my favorite quote of the book: “Loneliness…it’s torture in a way. No. It’s worse because at the end of the torture, you have rest.” I mean... WOW! I don't know what you are reading, but I'm reading Mactus, the second book, as soon as I'm done... I'm hooked! Like I said, the author gave me the up-to-date version because I had an old one.  This review has been an honest review of a great book.

PDMI is a self-publishing outfit but you would think they would have some sort of morals or standards of quality for what they put out to the reading public - this book is one of the worst written books I have ever read in YA - paranormal or any other genre for that matter.  Shame on the publisher for taking Guido's money - giving her false hope that she can write a decent book  - and robbing her blind (PDMI - charges over $1000/book with zero advances - typical rip-off services)  Guido not only paid for this book but two other books as well, and she got zero for her money - the worst edited books on the market as well.    I wish I could say one thing positive about this book  but there is nothing - the cover is even cheesy and unimaginative for this genre!  Characters are shallow and unrealistic and the dialogue is plain dumb.   I am so grateful I didn't pay for this as a BETA/reader/reviewer because I would have demanded my money back after the first chapter.  It is so sad when writers are deluded into thinking they have a book ready for market because so many friends deceive them by telling them how talented they are - in reality Guido's so-called friends didn't do her any favors by commenting with perfect scores on her books unless they want her to fail!  It is pathetic, really, because Guido will figure out sooner or later she wasted her money with PDMI and their editors ( first page of the book had past and present tenses mixed up and POV all over the place) -atrocious editing.  I am now onto read a better book which will be anything that I pick up next.   Guido - don't quit your day job just yet and take a writing 101 course!
