The epic made simple. The miracle in the mundane.

One day, while browsing an antique store in Helena, Montana, photographer Tyler Knott Gregson stumbled upon a vintage Remington typewriter for sale. Standing up and using a page from a broken book he was buying for $2, he typed a poem without thinking, without planning, and without the ability to revise anything.

He fell in love.

Three years and almost one thousand poems later, Tyler is now known as the creator of the Typewriter Series: a striking collection of poems typed onto found scraps of paper or created via blackout method. Chasers of the Light features some of his most insightful and beautifully worded pieces of work—poems that illuminate grand gestures and small glimpses, poems that celebrate the beauty of a life spent chasing the light.

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
“A collection of poems that evoke consistent inspiration and lasting resonance.”
Literary Inklings

“Your heart will be stoked.”
— Christina Perri, singer/songwriter

"Gregson is clearly a romantic... His words slip past the defenses of even the most bitter, with boarded-up hearts and cynical minds, reminding readers why we love, yearn for connection, and bare our souls."
The Hiding Spot

“Like many people I know, I fell in love with Tyler Knott Gregson’s poetry via Instagram. Maybe it’s the allure of his Typewriter Series (awesome poems and quotes typed on vintage-looking parchment paper) or the fact that he posts just about every day so people always have something to see, but in the end I think it’s his raw talent for striking the chords of emotion within us that keep us coming back”
The Blonde Vegan

“His Haikus inspire in their simplicity because it has become rare to find beauty in the mundane. His poems are capturing in their tone and in the way he utilizes his words. His photography is simply breathtaking, to say the least.”
The Society Cynic

“There are writers and poets who just get it. Then, there are writers and poets who are so on point, you have no choice but to feel like maybe they've been reading your diary. If you're an avid Tumblr user, or just a fan of knowing you're not alone, you might be familiar with the work of Tyler Knott Gregson. Not only is Gregson a well-versed poet (pun intended) but he's also an incredible artist, photographer and has a big heart for charity.”
Buzznet

“With over 30,000 Facebook fans and more than 100,000 Tumblr followers, Gregson has definitely hit a nerve with his short-yet-poignant pieces. In an age of goofy Vine videos, memes and Instagram dinner-plate photos, poetry seems an unlikely addition to the community of web shares and posts. Gregson’s poetry, though, isn’t about flashy design or snappy humor. To read the comments on his blog and Facebook pages, it’s plain to see that his words genuinely resonate with his fans.”
Elsewhere NYC

“I LOVE THIS!  I follow Tyler Knott Gregson on Twitter and Tumblr. He’s amazingly talented!”
— Feeding My Addiction Book Reviews

“His poetry always catches me a bit off-guard and makes me reflect – which is why I like it so much. If you need a dose of romantic and moving poetry in your life, I highly recommend you follow this guy.”
Eryn Faye

“I read page after page, and I hope you take the time to do the same. That way we all can tell our children, as they reads his words from their textbooks, that we were among the lucky ones who first happened upon Tyler Knott Gregson not long after his tumblr days. This man. Him and his words are remarkable. I would tip my figurative hat to you, sir, but even that seems to small of a gesture to express myself.”
— Just Another Silly Dreamer

“Forget having a guy quote me Shakespeare or Neruda, find me a guy who can quote Gregson. He’d have me hook, line, and sinker.”
Belle of the Library

“Gregson's Chasers of the Light is a beautiful little book that will make you feel something.”
Pretty In Fiction

“…gorgeous from cover to cover.”
Savvy Verse & Wit

“I would give this book to anyone I'd like to convince to start reading poetry.”
Book Dilettante

“Beautifully done and a fresh and creative voice in poetry.”
Stories & Sweeties

“Please read this book, especially if you’re new to poetry because it’s a great first introduction.”
I Blog, You Read

“Gregson writes some of the most beautiful, romantic, and thought-provoking poetry I have ever read.”
Girls Writes Reviews

“I wanted to kiss the book and place it somewhere, not just toss it into a ready to pass on pile.”
Maria’s Space

“This is hands down, no doubt about it, the most beautifully written piece of work I’ve read this year.”
The Paige-Turner

I¿ll be honest with you, I don¿t normally read poetry. Here and

I’ll be honest with you, I don’t normally read poetry. Here and there and at school, yes, but never have I just picked up a read that’s dedicated solely to poetry. That being said I was a bit worried about how my experience with Chasers of the Light by author Tyler Knott Gregson might be. What I can tell you is that I don’t know what I was so worried about because Chasers of the Light was the kind of light-reading material that left me with a stupid smile on my face.

Chasers of the Light is a collection of romantic poetry that instantly lifted my heart. The words that Gregson has written down are beyond hopeful and swoon worthy. Everything is type-written on what looks like scraps of paper, ticket stubs, old photographs and the like. It’s very vintage and as a teenage girl who likes to use this terminology—it all felt very hipster.

Gregson’s poetry can evoke emotions in ways I didn’t know that poetry could. One moment I would be reading a poetry that made me want to cuddle up with someone and then the next I felt yearning and longing for somebody that I don’t even have. This is the kind of poetry that a hopeless romantic like myself desires. I could go back to so many of the words written in this collection and re-read them for hours.

In short: I don’t think I want anybody writing me Bruno Mars-esque love songs anymore. What I want what everyone should want is to have poetry written for them the way Gregson has written poetry for the love of his life. Fans of romance, poetry and any readers who just want a read that is perfect for a lazy afternoon should definitely get their hands on Chasers of the Light.

I discovered Tyler Knott Gregson on Instagram a little over a year ago. I've looked forward to his daily poetry ever since. The words that escape this man's mind are beyond beautiful. They evoke every emotion imaginable. He has such a gift and I am so excited to have a concrete copy of some of my personal favorites. Whether you're a hopeless romantic or someone who simply appreciates the art of penning words onto paper (or in this case mostly by typewriter), this book is a must own!

I randomly picked this book up off the shelf while looking for Michael Faudet's 'Dirty Pretty Things' and decided to browse through it, and boy am I glad I did.  The way Tyler writes really resonates with me and my style, and it is very refreshing to read a book of poetry cover to cover and find that the majority of the work made an impact on me.  I highly recommend giving this book a whirl.

The moment I first held this book in my hands was long awaited, and highly anticipated. My first time reading this book involved an abundance of crying, smiling, and throwing it against the wall screaming "Damn he is good,"  then being filled with regret and straightening out the pages. Considering I carried it around with me for a number of days, I had quite a few people ask about it. This resulted in everyone from a seventh grade boy , to sixteen-year-olds who hate reading, and people who rolled their eyes at the word poetry with their jaws dropped after reading one page, then asking if they could borrow it when i was done. To all of them I responded with "This isn't the kind of book you ever finish." I have read it at least six times, but i am nowhere near finished with it.
