Chasing Shadows [NOOK Book]

Overview

Being mistaken for a prominent Chicago area hooker is downright disconcerting, especially when there's a chance it might be true. This sort of situation would be easier for Meegan to take, if she wasn't also plagued by spooks, ghosts, and a total lack of impulse control.

    Terriblle

All the 4 letter words were totally unnecessary. Anybody who thinks cussing makes anything better is just stupid. Also, the story just quits without an ending. So very disappointing.

    Great Read

Always in suspense. Never knowing what is next and around the corner. Can't wait for the sequel.

    Not bad but needs editing

I know this may seem petty but I can't help it. There is a time and place for both "your" and "you're". They are not interchangeable. While most people who struggle with this issue say your when they mean you're this author says you're when she means your. Every single time she means your. It drove me to distraction. The story itself is ok but it got silly at times. I don't want to read the rest of the series.

    enjoyed right to the end

A rather strange story that leaves one with more questions. Will be looking for other stories from this author.

    Good story, terrible proofreading

This was a good book if you can get past the grammatical errors. I would have given it 5 stars if not for all the mistakes. I seriously disliked the ending as I will not be buying the rest of the series, so I will never know how this ends. It would be nice if a competent editor could use spellcheck BEFORE these ebooks are released. Just because a book is free doesn't mean we should have to deal with constant spelling and grammatical errors.

    Very entertaining

I had a hard time putting this book down and I'm hoping that a sequel is written since there were still alot of unanswered questions at the end.

    Good quirky. Ending left unresolved.

I'm truly torn by how to rate and review this book. I enjoyed it, it was a fast paced easy read, and yet I found it very frustrating at the same time. I like the quirky main character, but the shadows that lead her around are a too convenient plot contrivence that takes the place of real sleuthing, leaving the plot thin and less interesting. The characters are well drawn but don't quite ring true. There is too much unnecessary explicit sex for my tastes. I probably could have accepted all that and still enjoyed the book, but the author ruined it by suddenly throwing in new mysteries right at the end without resolving the existing ones. Don't start this book unless you won't mind getting suckered into having to read subsequent ones to find out what's going on. I don't plan to continue reading the series. It's not quite good enough to be worth the effort.

    Great Read!

She had me hooked from the first page and I finished the series in a few days. Each book evolved into more detail and more new aspects of the core story. Very well written and totally enjoyable.

    Excellent story

Well written prose, brillant pacing, fascinating voice. I will look for the next book in the series. Even the spooks were not annoying.
