USA Today Bestselling Author, Lacey Silks writes Erotic and Contemporary Romances with a touch of suspense. Her stories come from her life, dreams and fantasies. She's a happily married wife with two kids. Lacey likes to make her readers blush and experience the story as if they were the characters. Drawing on the reader's most sensitive emotions through realistic stories satisfies her more than... ...ok not really, but you get the point;) She likes a pinkish shade on a woman's cheeks, men with large feet and sexy lingerie - especially when it's torn off the body. Her favorite piece of clothing is a birthday suit.

I really liked this book. It turned out different than I thought it would. I figured between the title and the synopsis it wouldn’t end well for Scar and Jules. I have never been so happy to be wrong. This book had romance, danger, family, and surprises. Jules family isn’t close at all. She lives with her sister but they hardly see each other. Both her sister and her don’t have that close of a relationship with their mother. Scar is working on his relationship with his father and the one with his mother is much better. Scar is close with all his siblings. I love Scar’s mom Beth. She is a strong character with lots of depth. Jules is scared and confused. She took some wrong turns and is now scared of messing things up with Scar because of her past. She is confused by all the feelings she has for him and her reactions to those feelings. Scar is willing to give it his all to make things with Jules work. He has no experience with relationships but know that Jules is the one for him. Neither had the best examples for a good relationship growing up. This book was a great read. I was shocked by the ways some parts developed but a good shocked. I have read some other Lacey Silks books and loved them too. Lacey is a fantastic author. I look forward to reading other books by her in the future. I hope there will be another book in this series. I love all the characters in this series and would love to read about Scar’s brothers. Jules and Scar both have their own demons and problems. Both have fathers who cheated. Both have sworn off relationships because people always cheat. Why invest in something that is just going to hurt you in the end. Jules is surprised when she realizes the patient she is treating in the ER is really Scar. Days later she can’t get him out of her mind and goes to find him, and she does. Jules is surprised when she sees Scar for the first time in years and they start talking. He wants to try and have a relationship with her. She has always had a crush on Scar but was scared, she still is. They decide to give it a try. Then they are forced to deal with someone from their past. Jules has a stalker of sorts. Will Jules and Scar be able to have a successful relationship or will their fears mess it up? Will they be able to take care of Jules’ stalker before something bad happens? I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
Good book. Friends in high school find eachother.
A really great love story full of emotions from painfull memories
We met these 2 - Scar and Julia in the prequel and to be honest, i wasn't sure how this long story was going to fit into the timeline that we had before. I should have had more faith in our author since she's one of my favorites and this story solidified that thought. If you remember back in 'When things go Wrong' - we were with Julia and her family on a trip in the mountains when her path crossed with Scar - the boy that she was not only best friends with in high school, but had a crush on, and they both had the same perspective on romance and relationships. They weren't worth it, most likely would never work and even did what they could to help break up couples that had a cheating element in them. So fast forward to this new book, and we are quickly (thankfully) brought up to speed on where we are in their lives - it's a few years after that ski trip - when Julia was in the hospital waiting for Scar and he up and left, leaving her just a note. She's not got her professional life in order - she's a doctor, and she's working through her demons which are tied to her sex addiction - she has never and probably won't ever sleep with the same man twice. To her surprise, the man in the ER one night turns out to be none other than Scar and that brings a LOT of feelings and emotions back. From there, we see that there is SO MUCH more to their friendship but of course they still both have those major relationship issues that are so deep rooted that who knows what's going to happen. If we stop here for a second - think about it - there's a chance that this story could be way too predictable, and we'd be left wondering how an author can keep us entertained for the next 200 pages or so, but here, Ms. Silks does a great job of reminding us that there's so much more going on in life, and neatly interweaving a bit of stalking, trust issues and great foreplay. it's actually not until the last 50 pages or so that things start to come together, are completely ripped apart and then you're left to wonder if it can be put back together. Top it all off, while there's not as much sex in here as in other books that she writes, there's A LOT of passion, chemistry and heat that you know that once they do get to that point, it will be explosive. I think that we got the tease in 'When Things Go Wrong' to know that there is a lot between them and i love that there's such a long and drawn out build up in this installment. The question that we're left with is a nice one - which brother do we want to see more of in the series next? There's Ace and Axle and we can't forget the sister Grace - so i think that we're in for a nice long ride with this series and i can't wait!
Jules is searching for something, she had a glimpse of it 6 years ago when she crossed paths with her childhood friend Scar but then he left, leaving a note. In search of this feeling, she puts herself in some very dangerous situations and now she is fighting her way out of the darkness. Scar has always felt unworthy since he is the 'bastard' in the family so he has been working to be worthy, specifically for Jules, after their amazing encounter 6 years ago. When fate puts him directly in Jules path, will these two lonely souls realize what they have been searching for is each other? Of course, it can't be that simple. There is a great suspense story entwined in their romance as Jules is being stalked, could it be someone she knows? Jules and Scar … frustrated me at times as they fought this amazing attraction for each other but the journey that they each faced ultimately made their romance more intense and compelling.
Scar and Jules meet up again and the chemistry is off the charts! They do their best to maintain their romantic distance. We learn of their hardships, and what they went through in search of the almighty "O" they shared years ago. All that they've done in an attempt to conquer their pasts shines a light on an issue that most authors won't touch. It was done well without detracting from the tone or flow of the book. I enjoyed watching these two attempt a non-sexual relationship and just be the best of friends. For most of the book, they were still firm believers that committed relationships could never last without infidelity. Some of the drama in the middle was a little far fetched, but kept you on your toes. Because of that, we get to see the protectiveness that so many of us love. Watching them attempt to date made my heart smile. It was highly entertaining as neither really knew how. I thoroughly enjoyed this read, was delighted to see Sid again, and cannot wait to read more from Lacey. If you're in doubt, just click. I received an ARC for an honest review.
This is a wonderful story. It is filled with so many twists, there was no telling what was going to happen next. I was also impress with how the story addressed trust issues in people and relationships. This is definitely a story worth reading. And, if I had to choose,I would pick the next book to be about Trish and Axel. .
Hot! Hot! Hot! Jules and Scar have finally reconnected after six years. Their meeting in the hospital emergency room is anything but romantic. When they were in high school they saw their fathers' cheating and the pain that infidility caused their mothers' and the rest of the family. Because of that neither of them have had, nor have they wanted to enter into a relationship. Now that they have meet again, can they take a chance with each other? Addiction, stalking and recovery? This book is so well written and the emotions of the characters are so real. You will be drawn in and won't want to put this book down! I Loved This Book!! I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair review.
