This was what I was talking about! The writer totally, absolutely nailed it in this second book of the series. The THING that I felt was missing in the first book, what should have been there...I found it in this one. I FELT the panic this time...the obsessions that sucked the life and soul out...I crawled inside of Callie. I lost myself in this one. I can't even think about starting a different book now, and I always have one waiting! Please bring on the next in the series! Definitely a five plus star read. Review by CherishD.
If you read Checked by Jennifer Jamelli, you have an idea of the chaotic life of a person who must deal with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), as well as how it affects those around them. Jennifer Jamelli is back with more trials and tribulations in the life of Callie. Once again, with Checked Again, Ms. Jamelli adds a good dose of humor, heart and the heartbreak of this disorder as Callie is forced into situations she cannot control, which could send her over the edge, as the comfort of her daily rituals must be disrupted. Add to that the fact that Dr. Blake has resurfaced in her life like a phantom Knight in shining armor, always knowing what she needs to feel calm, almost before she does. But he has his own issues to deal with and using Callie as his personal redemption ticket is not what she needs. Will he betray her again and run as before? Will Callie learn to overcome some of her quirks? Jennifer Jamelli speaks to us with heart, filling each page with chaotic emotional mental stress that feels lie a washing machine on the agitate or spin cycle. Written as only a person with an up-close connection to OCD can, every ounce of tension and stress come screaming across every word as Ms. Jamelli plays maestro to the discordant symphony she has written. My head spun, my heart accelerated and my insides tightened, sometimes from laughter, sometimes from the stress I’m feeling as I begin to mirror Callie’s innermost feelings. Wonderful reading, powerful and entertaining all at once, this series I and this author should be on your reading radar!
What an amazing follow up to the first book "Checked"....I'm itching to see what happens to Callie and my favorite doctor. oh Dr. Bake...what a God send to Callie. How is he going to help her? Im dieing to know ...book 3 I need you x's 33
Can't wait for the 3rd book to see what happens to Callie and Aiden! I hppe they have a lot more together in the 3rd book as far as their relationship and banter goes and a bit less of Callie's OCD and constant repetition! But it is a great book! Heartfelt and sweet! Looking forward to the conclusion!
Callie is back and just as much fun as in the 1st book. And her OCD is not any better. After the hospital stay and abandonment by Dr. Aiden Blake. Callie is back to counting and checking, One, Two, Three. She feels abandoned by Aiden and is just trying to just survive. But of course, life throws her a curve. She is being sent to a conference in Florida. This is an almost impossible task, but guess who is ready to step in and help her through it. They were some sad moments and happy moments in this book. And I love everyone of them. Great job, Jennifer Jamelli on another wonderful, fantastic, amazing book. There is going to be a third book in this series and I cannot wait.
