Library Journal - Library Journal
This is a collection of Greene's columns from Esquire and the Chicago Tribune. Greene doesn't write about the events making headlinesrevolutions, disasters, crimes, politicsbut he writes about important events, nevertheless: the smaller everyday events that make life interesting, worthwhile, and strange. His essays range from an account of his meeting with four old friends to an interview with former president Nixon to a story about a 55-year-old man learning to read to an encounter with a women who spends her life on airplanes. This is not a book that libraries absolutely have to buy, but it would be a welcome addition to most collections. Rebecca Wondriska, Trinity Coll. Lib., Hartford
