Drawing from personal interviews, Prospero has written profiles of both established and up-and-coming chefs from the area. Each entry reveals the chef's cooking philosophy, influences, and personality. Each profile also describes the ambience of the chef's restaurant and offers two or three of the chef's recipes, each of which has been tested for home cooks.

Meet the Author

Ann Prospero was a feature writer for the Miami Herald and several magazines. She also served as the editorial director in the Department of Publications at the University of Miami. Her novel, Almost Night, a mystery set in Miami and the Everglades, was published by Dutton in 2000. She now works as a freelance writer and blogger from her home in Durham, North Carolina.
