I am a nursing student taking intro to chemistry, and this text is very easy to understand and follow. It provides many real-life examples to apply what you have learned. It also provides the opportunity to take your learning to the next level with the challenge questions at the end of each chapter. I hope the rest of my textbooks are like this one!!

So your not saving money by buying it a B&N. The new test book I purchased from them was cheaper than the college book store price, however, I would have received the online access code to masteringchemistry.com had I purchased it at the higher price from the book store. So for accuracy - if you want homework help and your need masteringchemistry.com access the cost to purchase it online after market is 44.50. Just so you are able to make an informed decision as to which book to purchase. I would have bought a used book and then purchased the access code had I known that bn wasn't going to include that in the purchase price. In other words - shop local!!!!

I actually just purchased this for my class for the fall. I purchased it through my college bookstore, the book itself does not come with the access code. I read the reviews and alot of people complain about this, it's not B&N's fault, it's the actual publisher's.

This book does not come with the Student Access Kit. When you open up this book it clearly states "With your purchase of a new copy of Timberlake, An Introduction to General, Organic, and Biological Chemistry, 10e, you should have received a Student Access Kit for MasteringChemistry." I contacted B&N and also the publisher and no one is willing to do anything. If I want the student access I have to pay approximately $45.00 extra. The publisher says B&N can sell just the book. If that's the case then they shouldn't have that page in the book that says it is included. This is not fair.

I agree I just purchased a used book and now I am going to purchase the online access. It was cheaper this way all the way around.
