Overview

Written primarily for high school and college-101 students, this updated edition covers all important chemistry topics, including atomic structure, bonding, chemical formulas, gases, chemical calculations, liquids, solids, and phase changes, chemical reactions, acids, bases, salts, electrochemistry, the basics of organic chemistry, and other related subjects. The book also presents five practice tests with answers, charts, reference tables, and a helpful glossary. Barron's Easy Way books focus on both practical and academic topics, presenting fundamental subject matter in clear, understandable language. Equally popular as self-teaching manuals and supplementary texts for classroom use, they are written to help students improve their grades and review subject matter before tests. They are also useful for introducing general readers to a new career-related skill. Easy Way titles cover virtually all subjects that are taught on advanced high school and college-101 levels. Subject heads and key phrases are set in a second color.

I LOVED THIS BOOK! I USED IT TO REFRESH FOR MY TEACHING EXAM. FOR ME I LOVED IT BUT FOR STUDENTS STARTING OUT THIS BOOK IS NOT CHEMISTRY THE EASY WAY!!

The examples in this book aren't very clear, it's a bit to wordy.

This book is NOT the easy way. All it does is show you a bunch of charts and graphs and never really explains them. My old chemistry book was SO much better, I'd recommend it instead - Exploring Creation With Chemistry: Edition 2. DO NOT buy this book unless you already totally understand chemistry! I don't know how it could be useful except for someone who already knows these things and juts wants this book for reference or something.

I bought this book as an introduction to my study of chemistry. It is written at a Ph.D. level and does not cover 'chemistry the easy way.' You'd be better off buying Zumdahl's Chemistry text book. I'm currently using Zumdahls book and the beauty and orderly simplicity of the dicipline of chemistry is coming to me easily because of the presentation. But back to this Barrons book - it really is TERRIBLE!
