Exiled by Maya Banks…Enticed to the island paradise where an enigmatic prince is living in exile, beautiful, virginal Talia is introduced to a world of forbidden pleasure where the prince’s every whim is fulfilled and her fantasies are rendered in exquisite detail. But when the prince is summoned back to fulfill his duty to his struggling country, reality is thrust upon Talia all too soon. She returns home, heartbroken, convinced she was a passing fancy for an idle ruler and his most trusted men. Until the day they arrive on her doorstep, determined to have her back where she belongs.

Sway by Lauren Dane…Levi Warner is an established, older man—wealthy, powerful, and above all, respectable. Then Levi meets Daisy, an uninhibited 24-year-old dance instructor and artist, not exactly the kind of woman Levi is accustomed to. But the young, free spirit, brings out something in him he only experienced in fantasies. When their scorching affair turns into something unexpectedly deeper, Levi finds himself torn between preserving his reputation, and exploring a wilder and much more satisfying kind of life.

    Cherished was absolute perfection!
One very vulnerable girl and four very dominant men! That fantasy just doesn't get any better for me. Talia is the perfect blend of honest innocence without coming across childish. I cant choose between Xander, Gavon, Sebastian or Nico! Maya has a way of developing her characters so you truly care about them and want them to all have the HEA. OH and the sex scenes...Damn!

To the reviewer that accuses lover's of these types of books to be condoning rape...I am truly sorry for what you have gone through and continue to go through. The fantacy of dominance is NOT the same as rape! I wish you could have chosen a different forum for your argument.

WHEN did RAPE become acceptable, even ENCOURAGED?!??!??! Let me tell you ladies, rape is NOT FUN. It is sick, demented, cruel, vicious, and totally unacceptable. I have gone on calls to pick up what is left of these women to get them medical care. They are NEVER THE SAME. Their lives are RUINED.

It isn't sexy, hot, or wonderful. It is a horrific, demeaning, nightmarish CRIME against women. Rape isn't "love" or "sexy" or "hot". Anyone who commits rape is a sadistic, controlling monster who cares only for their own control and power over their victim, NOT for the well-being of their victim. Would you think it was "hot" if the guy/guys beat the "heroine" with a metal pipe? Tied her up and put a blowtorch to her skin? Ripped her hair out by the roots and cut off her fingers with knives?

I see women who have had this done to them every day, and sometimes the saddest are the rape victims, as our society tends to blame the victim for rape, not the perpetrator. These women are the ones who self abuse after their attack, or wind up on a slab in the morgue from suicide.

Shades of Gray is apparently responsible for the beginning of this type of written madness, but there is something sick and twisted about the fact that these types of books are looked upon and ENCOURAGED as acceptable by so many women??? And before you ask, yes, I KNOW of what speak. Been there, done that, have the therapy bills, bottles of pills and scars to prove it. Take off the blinders, women. If you really think these books are acceptable, maybe you should visit the nearest rape crisis center, emergency room, or morgue and see the truth about what you think is so cute and harmless. If you still find it cute and harmless, maybe then you should check in for some serious counseling. As should the writers who write these books. Rape victims are in NO SHAPE FORM OR FASHION "Cherished".

I could only stand to read to first story from this book it was so disturbing invoicing imaiges of gang rape and calling it love. I found it to be so disturbing that it gave me nightmares. If I were you I would stay away from this one.

    Wonderful Fantasy

I enjoyed Talia. She wasn't a pushover. Good read.

To the reviewer with regards to rape - please understand that erotic fantasy and rape are two different things. The key is safe and with permission. I agree with previous poster.

I enjoyed both novellas - no missing pages in my e-book. Usuall

I enjoyed both novellas - no missing pages in my e-book. Usually novellas feel rushed and like you are skimming the world the author created. I did not feel that way with either one in this book. Maya's novella created a stand-alone escape to a tropical island and Lauren Dane's is a great starting point to her new series.

    Rape?

I seen several.comments about this book making "rape" a good thing. I read the book cover to cover and never did i read anything about someone being taken by force. Some of the sex was unconventional, but no one was forced. Some people apparently need to understand is that is when someone is forced, against their well. Rape is NOT unconventional sex that some odf us may not understand.

Good read! I don't know how rape got brought into the discussion

Good read! I don't know how rape got brought into the discussion in the reviews, but everything in here is consensual. I loved the Lauren Dane side of the book. The Maya Banks side was good as well, but I'm not a huge fan of how Talia gets to do absolutely nothing (like not even put on her own lotion) because she has 4 men to cater to her every whim. Two men with one woman is good, but three is a bit of a crowd, and 4 just makes me wonder where everybody is going to go.

Cherished is a 2 for 1 book, the first story in the book is by M

Cherished is a 2 for 1 book, the first story in the book is by Maya Banks called Exiled. This book was awesome!!!! I loved the story it is a true fairy tale come true with an exotic twist. The prince in the story is Xander and he is all that and a bag of chips. He's strong but gentle and he adores his princess more than anything else in his life. The princess is Talia a virgin that he fell in love with when she was too young so he waited until she was old enough to become his everything. Talia is all joy and light, she is naive and wants nothing more than to please her prince. And please him she does!!!

The 2nd story in this 2 for 1 is Sway by Lauren Dane. It is part of the Seattle Brown series. It is the story of Levi and Daisy. Levi is older (40) and Daisy is a mature (24). Levi falls into lust with her on site but he is holding a long ago pain that has hardened his heart to accept love again. Daisy is an all in kinda girl. She is loyal to her friends and gives more of herself than she really should. She is spread thin working several jobs and filling in for her friends whenever and wherever they need her but for Levi she will do anything to see him. Daisy is a free spirit with tattoos and a mexican heritage, Levi comes from a stiff upper class family that he thinks would be appalled at her so he holds himself back. In the end their love is too strong to keep them apart, come what may and Daisy shows Levi that she can thrive in his world just fine.

I loved both of these stories so much I would love to give them a higher than 5 star. They were off the charts for me. This is a must read if you are a fan of erotic romance.

I picked up this book because I was really interested in the sec

I picked up this book because I was really interested in the second story in the book, Sway. However, I only ended up finishing the first story (Exiled by Maya Banks).

EXILED (3 stars): Exiled is the reason this book is getting two stars, otherwise it would only get one.  Exiled by itself is about three stars for me. The story was ok, a bit far-fetched, but still ok.  My problems with it was the dynamics in the book didn't really make a lot of sense for me.  Xander is the exiled prince of a small country and with him are his 3 trusted friends/guards.  These friends, we are told over and over again, are extremely loyal to Xander.  What isn't clear is why.  I saw their loyalty, but I didn't see much about Xander that would garner such loyalty.  Xander plays the alpha to their wolf-pack, but he comes off as a selfish jerk. Everything was about him, what he wanted, and the way he wanted it.  I could see why Talia would develop feelings for some of the other men, but I had no idea what any of them saw in Xander.  I had this overall sense that Xander was not only Domming Talia, but all of them.

He shares Talia with them, but he retains this air of possession with her that gave me the sense that while sharing her with them she was ultimately his.  Did that mean the other men could pursue relationships of their own?  Was Talia free to fall in love with the other men?  Talia was confused about this in the book and so was I, right up to the very end. Talia and the other men truly serving at the pleasure of the prince.

SWAY (1 star): I didn't finish this story.  There wasn't any problem with the writing or story telling in my book over all.  I just didn't care for it. After the initial meet-cute of the two main characters, there next couple of scenes between the characters seemed a bit disjointed. There was also a lot of characters in this story introduced or reference that it became a bit confusing.  I haven't read anything by this author before, so I didn't care about, nor care to, meet all of the characters from previous books.  They didn't really add much to this story for me.  So, I did not get far in this book.  Maybe it was me, maybe I wasn't in the mood for a cast of characters. This story just did not hold my interest.

Love Dane's Novella!  Sway by Lauren Dane. Book 1 of the Delicio

    Love Dane's Novella!
Sway by Lauren Dane. Book 1 of the Delicious series

Taken from Ms Dane's website - SWAY will be in the CHERISHED Duology with me and Maya Banks – both our books will have a contemporary BDSM theme. It’s also the start to my DELICIOUS series, the spin off from The Brown Siblings books.

Levi Warner is an established, older man—wealthy, powerful, and above all, respectable.

    Review

I really enjoyed this novella. It is a erotic ROMANCE. It has emotional complexity and a simply wonderful heroine. She radiantly knows herself and is loved and demands love.

Levi is more messed up. He had an awful marriage, thinks he is too old for our heroine, and is a Mr. Scaredy Pants with risk.  Never the less, I get why Daisy digs him and he grovels real well.

If you have read the Brown series and the other books in  the Delicious series,  you will find this yum yum yummy.

It is unexpectedly moving and has perfect balanced of believable BDSM. love, and humanness.

    Very good!

    Exiled by Maya Banks

    Review

Banks is a very good writer but for me this novella is mainly erotica and not erotic romance. I actually like polyamorous love story a great deal. I have reread The Ninth Orb  by Kaitlin O'Connor so many times if it wasn't on my ereader it would be in shreds.

But I struggle with contemporary or basically non paranormal, urban fiction, or fantasy set poly love stories. I like the anthropological look at love within a culture that accepts multiple partners. There are some writers (like Dane) than can write convincing long term commitment menge set in our world, but Bank's novella failed on that level for me.

I think it didn't work for me because of vigin fetish mixed in with the BDSM and the fact the lead hero was the king of a small island country. This is sort of high fantasy in itself but not workable for me.

I never connected emotionally.  Its really well done erotica though, if you are looking for that kind of fun.

Very different story line. But worth the time. I think if the word whore was never used it would have been better. What woman wouldn't want four lovers who adored her cherished her and loved her.

Maya Banks is a fantastic writer and had me hooked from the very beginning. I couldn't stop once I started reading it! When I finally went to bed my dreams were very very pleasant. Lauren Dane as usual didn't disappoint.  I loved Daisy's story and found Levi to be quite scrumptious. This was definitely not for the faint of heart.
