Terrible eBook of a Great Classic

There are no illustrations at all! Complete waste of 99 cents.

You are better off getting it from Project Gutenberg for free!

Whoever is taking money for this, is as greedy as he is lazy. Didn't even bother to get one of the versions from Project Gutenberg with pictures!

    Not the best reproduction

The book is a classic but this is not he easiest copy to read. There are occasional typos and the chess notation is very old style. Too bad, this is a great book if you can break through the coding.

    Great Book, Bad Edition

This book is a classic. Every serious player should be familiar with each and every concept it covers. The best sections, in my opinion, are 'Two Rooks and Pawns' and 'A Player's Motives Analyzed in a Specimen Game'. Most of the endings a player gets into will be rook endings and they are none too easy. This book got only 3 stars not because of the material covered, but the physical construction of the book itself. My copy fell apart. The pages fell out after only one reading. The McKay edition is muck more duable, though it is in descriptive notation.

    Terrible.

Another ocr of an old book. I think this is slightly better than some of the others, however glancing at a random page just now I see the words "famiharise", "accophsh", and "IiIates". Some of the diagrams have survived the digitization intact, however I found them to be a little too small.

One of the strongest players who ever lived

Capablanca never lost a game, ever. Drew a few, though.
