Description: This book discusses the ubiquitous chest radiograph, covering imaging techniques, normal findings, and disease processes.
Purpose: The authors intend the book as a review of the chest radiograph, not only in image acquisition but also in imaging findings.
Audience: Medical students, nonradiology trainees, practicing clinicians, and junior radiology residents are the most appropriate audience for this book. While it is too basic for more advanced trainees, it is helpful for those starting a career in imaging. It is difficult to determine the authority of the authors as they are practicing radiologists in India.
Features: The authors review the techniques of how chest radiographs are acquired, which is very useful. They provide a nice review of normal anatomic structures that can be identified on radiography, as well as the optimal projection for evaluation of those structures. The diagrammatic representations are well done and informative. The authors also provide a good overview of pathology seen on chest x-ray.
Assessment: Overall, this is a useful handbook for medical students and junior radiology residents. It is a good addition to a resident library.
