I am so pleased to find a recipe book that features only chewy cookies. I have successfully rationalized that flour is made from whole grain wheat, therefore, I can eat as many cookies as I want. Eileen's recipes are easy to follow, yet yield results you would expect to find at an old-fashioned neighborhood bakery. I especially appreciate Eileen's personal anecdotes about her cookies and what her family and friends like best and for which occasion. It makes the book fun to read while I chomp on a chewy cookie and contemplate the next batch of batter I'll make.

It isn¿t often that you find a cookbook that ¿speaks to you¿ before you start assembling your ingredients. The author doesn¿t just give you a recipe. Ms. Talanian grabs you, describing each delectable bite, so you can almost smell and even taste these scrumptious goodies before they¿re in the oven. Having purchased her specialty cookies (from An American Kitchen), for holidays and special occasions, it was a delight to find her book. She does an excellent job of explaining ¿how¿ to make each cookie recipe, almost like she is there holding your hand. While I don¿t have the credentials and experience she does ¿ I know my cookies will be among the best loved at this coming year¿s Christmas Cookie Share ¿ thanks to her book. It is the next best thing to having her make them for me! And her web site is great too!
