Overview

A reporter for the Calumet Dredge Reporter is assigned to investigate a sailing disaster at Burnham Harbor. No one seems to know what caused it except a geophysical sciences professor on the Midway and a strange character named Judo Strmowski, a power boat skipper. As the story unfolds it reveals a mysterious "hump" in Lake Michigan, which travels at speeds only Judo's Almar 38 called "Stryker" can match. The professor gradually explains the origins of the hump, and it attacks again.
