Meet the Author

A romance writing career has brought Vicki Lewis Thompson many wonderful things—New York Times bestseller status, an appearance on Live with Regis and Kelly, the Nora Roberts Lifetime Achievement Award from Romance Writers of America, thousands of readers, many dear friends, and the cutest little yellow convertible in the world. Her career has also given her work she loves. Although she’s written more than a hundred books, she continues to be fascinated by the many ways that a man and a woman fall in love. The age-old story remains a challenging puzzle to be solved anew with each book. That makes her a very lucky person, indeed.

Overall a lame story and characters. Unimagniative.

This was a bad Sookie Stackhouse knock off. It felt like B movie version of something that was far more witty and entertaining. The characters are bland. And all the witch and wizard elements really were not creative enough to be an escape or entertaining. If you've read the Twilight series, Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse novels, or even Harry Potter, you can skip this as it pales in comparison with originality. Kind of sluty, morally questionable, and not suitable for teen readers.

    Sexy, funny, charming

If you like romances about sassy witches and funny situations, this one is for you. The lead characters are a hoot, it has a nice tie in with a previous book in the series and the plot is paced well.

    I Also Recommend:

    Great book!

I really enjoyed this book. I love books with great storylines and lots of sexy and funny dialogue. I usually read paranormal romance books about werewolves, demons and vampires. But after reading about the family of witches and wizards in this book, I think I want to read the whole series of "Babes on Brooms". The main character Lily Revere and her family are all witches and wizards. She is very much in like with one of the bar's patrons Griffin Taylor a divorce lawyer, who comes to the bar where she works. But he ignores her advances and keeps his distance. He thinks that she is really hot but not the woman for him. She decides to make a adoration potion and give it to Griffin and uses the essence of her magical dog Daisy. Griffin then becomes a slave to his lust for Lily and can't figure out why. The rest of the story is about these two lovers, their faimly and friends trying to help them realize that they belong together.

The second Babes on Brooms urban fantasy is a jocular over the top of Chicago Wild and Hexy tale

Her family adores Lily Revere though they know her free spirit ways gets her constantly in trouble. Lily knows she is nothing like her perfect sister, but never cared until now. A witch, she wants attorney Griffin Taylor, but though she sees something in his eyes that she believes is desire; he never makes a move.

She needs an escort to accompany her to her sister Anica's wedding (see the amusing Blonde With a Wand) and figures it might as well be someone she wants beyond a casual date. She casts a spell to get Griffin to take her because he desires her. Her incantation works, but the more she learns of him, the deeper she falls for him. As she falls in love, Lily owes him the truth though she expects her heart will be broken when he learns how she deceived him.

The second Babes on Brooms urban fantasy is a jocular over the top of Chicago Wild and Hexy tale. The humorous story line is driven by Lily's needs and desires for an escort with her choice being the man she wants who has ignored her until she gives him a mickey love spell. Fans will enjoy lighthearted Chick with a Charm as the heroine knows that without the love potion her chance of gaining Griffin's regard is on a par with the Cubs winning the World Series.
