Overview

After enduring so much tragedy, Meredith Malone celebrated her latest triumph--delivery of a healthy baby girl! Meredith's dreams of motherhood had finally come true despite the fact that little Anna happened to be a different race than her mommy. To escape the media barrage due to the clinic's obvious mix-up of donor sperm, Meredith headed to the shore...and into the arms of Justin Weber. This sexy attorney made the quiet nights and peaceful days away from the city ripe with a passion she'd never experienced. But was his mysterious, secretive nature hiding something? Or had past experience taught her to find something wrong with this man who was oh-so-right--as a husband and as a daddy?

Meet the Author

A peacemaker, a romantic, an idealist and a discouraged perfectionist are the words that Cheryl uses to describe herself. Since her first book was published in 1993, she's written over twenty-five historical and contemporary romances, which have received high acclaim from readers. Cheryl's office walls hold framed covers and awards she's proud to display.

Cheryl admits to being an avid collector who loves everything from teapots, cups and saucers and pitchers to depression glass, kitchenware and tin advertising signs. She especially enjoys browsing flea markets for antiques and collectibles, and claims her car automatically pulls over for a garage sale.

She says that knowing her stories bring hope and pleasure to readers is one of the best parts of being a writer. Working in her jammies ain't half bad either!

She had four releases in 2005 alone: Prairie Wife, Harlequin Historical, February; Million-Dollar Makeover, Silhouette Special Edition Montana Mavericks, June; His Secondhand Wife, Harlequin Historical July; and The Bounty Hunter, Montana Mavericks Historical, September.

With today's society, this is a very much read. We can except gay marriages but not biracial children. Love it.

This is the first novel I've read by Cheryl St. John. And I was very impressed. She spun a wonderful tale of tradgedy, triumph, trust and true love. This was a fast-paced page-turner, that I was caught up in from beginning to end and even though I couldn't put it down, I hated that it ended so soon. A sweet and endearing tale that crept into my heart and warmed my very soul. This story had unforgettable and heart-warming characters and the emotional depth of the storyline just flowed effortlessly. I enjoyed watching Justin and Meredith's budding friendship bloom into a full blown love affair with great promise for both of them. Ms. St. John also handles the interracial relationship and Anna's mixed heritage in a very mature and respectfully understanding manner. I not only fell in love with lil' Anna, but with Justin's sons Lamond and Jonah, who didn't seem to see the color at all and only offered instant friendship to Meredith and her baby girl. A throughly enjoyable read!
