Meet the Author

Standing over six feet tall, Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.

He has written the DEMONSOULED series of sword-and-sorcery novels, and continues to write THE GHOSTS sequence about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the COMPUTER BEGINNER'S GUIDE series of computer books, and numerous other works.

    Great Middle Fantasy

This is a very well done fantasy novel. Not super complex, and a few major points fairly predictable, but it's good. There's a lot that goes on that's not predictable and doesn't play out to cliche. The main character faces a number of moral dilemmas that she deals with in somewhat nuanced ways. I also really liked the Mediterranean and middle eastern mixed with Roman feel to the world, a welcome change from English & French mythology.

Shame on Barnes and Noble for allowing people to give a plot spoiling book report instead of a short non-revealing review. If i see more the 4 lines that somone wrote I skip that review; I know its one of the parasites that ruin a book by giving the whole story away. Go away....we want to read the book for ourselves!!!!!

    Entertaining

This book was fun, well-paced, and engaging. If you like sorcery and revenge, girl heroines and happy endings, this is a book for you. Not deep, nor complex, this book is an easy read that'll keep you turning the pages.
    Best of all, it's free.

    Just fyi

When someone says "I'm only 10 and I like this book" makes me think 1) Who in the world brags about being ten years old? 2) Do your parents know what you're reading? And 3) it makes me want to say "I'm 22 and I like this book!" just to be snarky (which I just did ;))... who cares what age you are? A good book is just that, a good book. It's a free book at that so read it for yourself and make your own judgement.

    Good

I enjoyed this book. Only one part at the end I didn't like. Can't say for those that haven't read it yet. I liked it enough to read the next book.

Read this review, it may be helpful.

Jonathan Moeller has always been a favorite of mine, but this book fails to live up to the outstanding standards that he set for himself with the demonsouled saga. But this book is still incredibly fun to read, even though the second book is better. Besides, it's free, so why not?

    Couldn't get into it

Decided to give it 3 stars in case it gets really dynamic and interesting at some point, but after finishing the entire demodulated series in a couple of Weeks, I found myself bird after 276 pages. The authors primitive and slow-paced style of writing complimented the crude Olde-English medieval atmosphere of Demodulated series, but in this case it want dynamic enough for me. Maybe I will return to this book at some point.

    Eh

With all the great reviews I had expected more. The writing isn't bad necessarily but it's very choppy and I found myself spending a lot of time contemplating how the story could have been made to flow more naturally. In the end not horrible but I found it hard to finish.
