Meet the Author

Standing over six feet tall, Jonathan Moeller has the piercing blue eyes of a Conan of Cimmeria, the bronze-colored hair a Visigothic warrior-king, and the stern visage of a captain of men, none of which are useful in his career as a computer repairman, alas.

He has written the "Demonsouled" trilogy of sword-and-sorcery novels, and continues to write the "Ghosts" sequence about assassin and spy Caina Amalas, the "$0.99 Beginner's Guide" series of computer books, and numerous other works.

    Great Middle Fantasy

This is a very well done fantasy novel. Not super complex, and a few major points fairly predictable, but it's good. There's a lot that goes on that's not predictable and doesn't play out to cliche. The main character faces a number of moral dilemmas that she deals with in somewhat nuanced ways. I also really liked the Mediterranean and middle eastern mixed with Roman feel to the world, a welcome change from English & French mythology.

Read this review, it may be helpful.

Jonathan Moeller has always been a favorite of mine, but this book fails to live up to the outstanding standards that he set for himself with the demonsouled saga. But this book is still incredibly fun to read, even though the second book is better. Besides, it's free, so why not?

    Couldn't get into it

Decided to give it 3 stars in case it gets really dynamic and interesting at some point, but after finishing the entire demodulated series in a couple of Weeks, I found myself bird after 276 pages. The authors primitive and slow-paced style of writing complimented the crude Olde-English medieval atmosphere of Demodulated series, but in this case it want dynamic enough for me. Maybe I will return to this book at some point.

    Good

I enjoyed this book. Only one part at the end I didn't like. Can't say for those that haven't read it yet. I liked it enough to read the next book.

I enjoyed the story line and look forward to the rest in the series. You get somewhat drawn into the characters, there could be more depth, but they are still likable and make this a pleasing read.

This is a wonderfully long book. I love the characters and seein

This is a wonderfully long book. I love the characters and seeing the main character Caina grow into her person. I can't wait to buy the next in the series. This free book has me hooked. I would gladly have payed for this book. The only problem someone might have is that it does have grammatical errors. This is not a problem that bothers me but I know there are people out there that have issues with it. I love this book and highly recommend reading it.

    Just fyi

When someone says "I'm only 10 and I like this book" makes me think 1) Who in the world brags about being ten years old? 2) Do your parents know what you're reading? And 3) it makes me want to say "I'm 22 and I like this book!" just to be snarky (which I just did ;))... who cares what age you are? A good book is just that, a good book. It's a free book at that so read it for yourself and make your own judgement.

Excellent! - I look forward to more in the series

I consider Moeller to be in the same class of author as Terry Goodkind and Robert Jordan
