Meet the Author

I currently live in southern Louisiana with my wife and children, though I grew up in Michigan, graduating high school in Mason MI. I also spent time living in North Carolina, Florida, and California during my time in the United States Marine Corps. I have always dreamed of publishing my work, and seeing it on a bookshelf in a store, however with the huge shift to digital media I finally realized that the dream was in my own hands. I tell my children that they can live their dreams, and I believe in leading by example.I enjoy writing across several different genres from poetry, to children's stories, to full epic fantasies. Creating new characters for my readers to connect with, new worlds for them to immerse themselves in, and new ideas to wrap their minds around is an amazing if not humbling experience. I hope that all my readers can take something away from each of my books, and enjoy reading them just as much as I have enjoyed putting them in print.Semper Fidelis

I would, rate this series 12 up. The story of the four books was well done and enjoyable. Reminiscent of early Heinlein books I found it a nostalgic trip to the heyday of SF in the 50s. I did not care for the marketing ploy used. The four works are basically one book split into four novellas of approx. 100-150 ebook pages. At 3.59US for three of the books or 10.77 a quite expensive four part book. If you don't mind spending that much for a kids book go ahead. Instead look for early classic Heinlein for more bang for your buck. Try Have Spacesuit Will Travel, Farmer in the Sky, or Space Cadet, or any early book by Robert Heinlein written or young people.

I enjoyed this book. Although it is a short easy read it does make the reader want to know more about what happened to Chicago, why it's destroyed and what will happen to the three children after they leave the survival bunker their father put them in. I think this is written for young children 8-10 years old. I thought it was well written, but the author shows the same things happening through three different viewpoints. It's unneccesary and doesn't move the story along at the right pace. An interesting beginning to an adventure series for kids. Jp

For the first "end of the world" book I have ever read I have to say, really freaking nice. I love the mystery, and I can't wait to get the next one to be able to find out what's going on, what actually happened.

I really enjoyed this book, the issue is getting the other 3! B&N does not carry them that I can find for Nook, but I loved that book 1 was free. I am 40ish and love books like Gone series, The Passage series, Maze Runner series, Hunger Games series, and Divergent series...I would put this on that short list as well. Quick read, not complex or complicated, good character development. Nice mellow unwind reading. Great after a complex day!

This almost believable tale can scare you into thinking what might happen if .... Writer's prerogative allows the children to go through an adventure in a way most people today could not survive. The use of three different perspectives on the same event fosters clarification of what takes place. All in all a good read. Just disappointed it left you hanging in the end.

I thought this was a very compelling story with lots of questions about what is going on. Couldn't put it down. Interesting all the way to the end.

If you like sf this is a goodie, Short less than 120 pages, but fast moving and wonderful suspense and emotions.

I thought this was about survival after an EMP or something similar. I was a little disappointed when I got to the end of the book and found that it was something else. I did enjoy the book, but don't think I'll continue the series.

At this point I have not read this freebie and hate to start something I can't get a conclusion to.  Reader42AS, I did as you recommended and can't find the sequels to this "book."  Even checked  the author out elsewhere.  Any other suggestions?
