a mother of 7 can tell

My children range in age fron 2 to 25. All these years the book was with me. Looking at my grown up kids I can tell you every word in the book is helping you making yourself and your children happy

Excellent reference guide and immensely readable

This is a book that is full of common sense and solid advice that is also actually quite a good read. It's also good to have on hand when you're exasperated and need to take a time-out yourself from disciplining children. Granted, it does show its age in places (written in the 1960s, it assumes that most mothers stay at home while dad goes to work. It does, however, recognize single-parent households.) but it is actually comforting to know that the challenges faced by parents a half-century ago are remarkably similar to ours.

    An Easy DO-IT-YOURSELFER

This 'gem' of a book was suggested to me in 1991. As a single parent of 3 sons (at the time two were teenagers) I was frustrated and needed answers. I followed the easy steps in the book and was amazed at the results. It totally changed my methods of parenting by giving me the tools necessary to invoke positive responses in my sons. They are now adults and I continue to use Dr. Dreikurs techniques with my nine year old granddaughter. I have given many copies of this book as gifts to my family and friends. 'Don't wait another minute...purchase this book'.
