Overview

This book is written for teachers and caretakers of young children from infancy though age eight who exhibit behavioral and developmental disabilities or conditions, whether or not they have been diagnosed. This wealth of information helps the teacher successfully plan programming for the child individually and in a group setting. The reader will welcome the unique format of the book. Disabilities and conditions are defined in straightforward language and all of the material is presented in an easy-to-follow column format. Columns outline three areas: 1) behaviors and their associated conditions; 2) other conditions with similar behaviors; 3) and, what action to take or not to take when certain behaviors and symptoms are present. Web sites listed at the end of each section are welcome resources for further information.
