Overview

Children's Book: This is the Introduction to the Stories and not a regular book. Oliver is an elegant tuxedo cat, who is full of himself. As a matter of fact he says: “I love myself!”, quite often. Naughty, isn’t he? But his best friend Jumpy, a kangaroo lady, is aware that he has a soft heart and will always want to help others. The great thing is Jumpy’s pouch, which Oliver loves to ride in! He calls her his kangaroo taxi! These little bedtime stories with their lovely illustrations are great for small kids. A parent can read the text and tell the child in his own words. These animal stories have sufficient text to keep early readers happy and provide some educational value. Love you all! Meow!

Meet the Author

Werner Stejskal, author of the cat stories “Oliver and Jumpy”, Austrian born, now living in Australia, has been working in Vienna for the United Nations. In his earlier years he traveled extensively through the Middle East and Far East. At that time he met and later married his pen-friend Cynthia in Hong Kong. After an eventful life in Australia and Austria his family, now including two children, immigrated to Australia. Finally retired, he was given the inspiration to write a series of children's stories, which are about an elegant tomcat and his kangaroo lady friend, Jumpy. In this illustrated animal series, these two experience all sorts of adventures together. Influenced by the tuxedo cat of his daughter and a life-long attraction to story writing, all helped to give birth to this unique series. Werner works together with overseas illustrators and eventually intends to have this series animated for TV. Cat series have always been popular and “Oliver and Jumpy” should add variety to the best of them!

Oliver is a very elegant cat. He's a very different cat.  He can't eat mice or anything like that. He's allergic to them.  His best friend is Jumpy, a kangaroo.  They have lots of adventures and meet many other animals. Let's join them.      A wonderful series of books about helping others.  They are perfect bedtime stories because they are short and sweet.  Your young ones will love the characters. They are bigger than life and nothing to be scared of. I love the fact they end on a positive note. It's nice to bring children books they will learn from and enjoy too. I recommend you get these for the young ones in your  life.      I did find a couple issues for American children at least. There are lots of big words used that many won't understand.      I gave this one 5 cheers out of 5 because the littles will love these books.   ~Copy of book provided by author in exchange for a fair review~

I really expected more of a story to introduce the characters, rather than just a presentation of them . My two-year-old grandson has no interest in this as it is presented.
