so disappointed when I received this book I read this and it is not worth it for people who know reiki nor for kids

    fails to deliver

This book is completely devoid of any useful content.
Is this really necessary information? I think not.

Although the blurb promises that by reading this book you will add depth & great spiritual meaning it is just that blurb

the authors have self published this book and one of them even gave it 5 stars on www.amazon.co.uk

"5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Guide for Kids, 29 Jan 2008
By Pamela Yarborough - See all my reviews
    (REAL NAME)

This review is from: Children's Reiki Handbook: A Guide to Energy Healing for Kids (Paperback)
Although this book was not what the reader from Baden-Wurttemberg was expecting in a children's reiki book, it is exactly what the book description states. A handbook for children. It was never intended nor was it described ANYWHERE as a "teacher's" handbook. (Amazon UK should post the book discription!!!)

And contrary to his statement, it does NOT show the attunement process or how to perform the attunements. It does however show the child what to expect during the attunement process, where the instructor will stand and how the student must hold their hands, etc. It prepares the student for the attunement and discusses what they might feel during the attunement. "

Not accurate, relevant, badly edited and a lack of understanding of Reiki. Keep on looking.

    a little fluffy and fuzzy

I find the whole thing a little fluffy and fuzzy, frankly. That's not to say that there isn't useful information in here, but I'm not sure that one couldn't dig that up with a little searching on the internet.

    Great introduction!

I found Children's Reiki Handbook by Pamela and Robert Yarborough to be a concise yet thorough introduction to the Usui healing system of Reiki. It's perfect for children and young adults--both those who already know something about Reiki and those who've never been exposed to it. The text is clear and well-written. The photographs are beautifully done and make it easy for a young person (or adult!) to learn the various hand positions for healing. My two children, ages 9 and 11, are Level 2 Reiki practitioners, and both enjoyed the Yarboroughs' book. It's also a handy little book of basics for an adult!

    Children's Reiki Handbook - 1 star

JW67 "Lotusblüte" (Baden-Württemberg) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Children's Reiki Handbook: A Guide to Energy Healing for Kids (Paperback)
I was so disappointed when I received this book as I was hoping for some guidance to giving reiki seminars for children. I think it's a shame that the Reiki symbols are pictured in the book and I ask myself why the attunements are described etc. - this is more use for those who are giving the attunements rather than for the children receiving them .... Reiki is described as are the positions and chakras - but this information is given in any Reiki book and in a much better way. This book is not for children or about children and Reiki, it is a general Reiki book and for anyone looking for a Reiki book especially for children I suggest looking elsewhere. Anyone who has experience in this field should write a book - there's a market out there and no decent books published yet!!!
