Library Journal
This third annual edition remains a useful handbook for those offering creative work in the children's publishing marketplace. This edition retains ``how to contact'' information, payment and royalty explanations, and editors' tips. A new article on ``good-book basics'' and trends is brief and superficial but may help the neophyte. Longer pieces on making a dummy and on the business aspects of children's publishing are more thorough and informative. Thumbnail interviews with eight professionals add human interest. Besides the 300-plus primary outlets, this handy specialized directory also features listings of agents, workshops, contests, professional organizations, a glossary, and both age and alphabetical indexes.
