Library Journal
Inspiring color photographs of modernist architecture and interiors in the Tropics and China fill these idea books. Whereas in her previous book, China Style, Hong Kong-based interior design writer Leece showed interiors that drew inspiration from traditional Chinese domestic style, here she focuses on the modern design movement in China. Commercial and residential interiors are depicted in an uncluttered style that incorporates Chinese touches through the use of furniture and decorative accessories, along with a description of the owners' and inhabitants' design preferences. Barreneche, contributing editor to Metropolitan Home and Architectural Record, portrays modernist homes located between the Tropic of Cancer and Tropic of Capricorn. Individual homes are shown in color photographs, with floor plans accompanied by a description of the architects' approach to designing a modern home suited to tropical living throughout the world-including Australia, Brazil, Florida, and Mexico. Purchase where patrons are interested in modern architecture and design. Copyright 2003 Reed Business Information.
