The book deals with a number of basic topics, including a description of the traditional features of Chinese architecture, which are represented by imperial palaces and public housing, in addition to the residences of distinguished minorities with a special character. It also deals with a review of Western culture in China with regard to architectural art, and provides an explanation of foreign house styles in general, and buildings. The West in the late Qing Dynasty, then moves on to review the characteristics of housing and buildings during the era of the Chinese Republic and the first stages of the development of Chinese architecture in the modern era, and the emergence of high-level housing, including the housing of the middle bourgeois class, and huts in Rural and urban areas. The book also reviews the features of architectural styles in new societies in the modern era, the commodification of urban housing, the restoration of old housing, and the modernization of their forms, leading to high-rise urban buildings with modern designs.
