    Wonderful!

This book is great for anyone interested in Chinese Characters. It includes both an English-Chinese Dictionary and a Chinese-English Dictionary. It has a short introduction that tells you how to navigate the dictionary and after that it is smooth sailing. This dictionary includes everything the student will need to know and anything the interested person will want to know. After learning where the characters originated from, it was easier to memorize them. Great job!

    The Best, most useful

This is the best Chinese dictionary on the market. The outlines are wonderful, and you can learn a lot more than just the simple definition of a character. If you just read the introduction, it is simple to understand how the dictionary works. It took me all of five minutes to learn the outline. This dictionary helps bring together other great works, such as Wieger, Wilder/Ingram, and Mathews. A must have for the student of Chinese!

Impossible to use, returned for refund

I found this book impossible to use. I just cannot understand how the dictionary is structured (and I am a fluent speaker of Chinese). I could not find many of the most common words. Although I could search by using PingYin, but unless the word was in some sort of a phrase, there was no way to find it in the book. The order of the words in the dictionary just did not make sense either. They did not even follow the order of the PingYin letters...At the end, I returned the book.

    Most versitle dictionary out there!

I found this book when studying abroad and it helped me tremendously since back home I had studied the pinyin romanization and in Taiwan they use bopomofo- but this book has both! It helps me with memorization to know where the character 'comes from'. I would highly suggest this book to anyone studying Chinese (both tradional and simpified characters). It has completely replaced my old dictionaries!
