This was a great book to read. I enjoyed it alot. If you havn't seen the movie yet. Read the book first. It's completly different. But very good. Very innocent. Here's the jist of it. The Pot family buys a old car. On their way to the beach they find out it's magic when it's starts flying. When they get to the beach. The tide comes in while they are in the car and they get floated out to sea In the English chanel. They decide then that they will take a little trip to France. When they reach the shore they take shelter at a cave and decide to go exploring in it. They find out that it's a outlaw's stow away of secret weapons. They decide to blow the stuff up. When the robbers find out who it was they chase them and kidnap the children durring the night to use them for their plan of robbing the chocolate shop. The parents go after the children with chitty chitty bang bang along. I won't tell you the rest because no one likes it when a good ending is spoiled.

If it's by Ian Fleming, you know it's going to be great. This old car that can do everything except disappear and make coffee makes a wonderful and exciting book for any child who can dream. The movie with Dick Van Dyke, Gert Frobe 'Goldfinger from the movie of Ian Fleming's book' and Benny Hill is also great for kids of all ages.

This is one of the best children's stories you will ever read. The story of Commander Caractacus Pott, his family, and the wonderful magical car known as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang is sure to delight you. Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond, tells the delightful story of the magical car that can even turn into a boat! When they meet up with crooks and gangsters, the Pott family use their ingenuity and the help of the magical car. You won't be sorry you bought this fantastic little book. Should be added to every child's bookshelf. Delightful!
