Children's Literature
This excellent new resource on chlorine is a fascinating and fact-filled journey for readers. It is a slim 32-page book with easy-to-read text and chapters that are brimming with clear, concise information. Included is information on what chlorine is, where it is found, special characteristics of chlorine, how chlorine reacts, chlorine in nature, chlorine in medicine and industry and chlorine and our environment. A colorful two-page spread of the periodic table is a useful aid. The large text is accompanied by beautiful color photographs, diagrams, charts and illustrations. An interesting sidebar explains how French chemist, Claude-Louis Berthollet, discovered bleach. A glossary is included and will aid readers' understanding. This book is a useful resource in the science classroom or home library. Part of Benchmark's "The Element" Series.
