Overview

The conclusion of the best-selling Chobits saga! In a world where people rely on computers to escape loneliness, the logical conclusion is the persocom — attractive robot companions that are becoming everyone's boyfriend and girlfriend. Chi is a persocom, but she is also one of the legendary "Chobits," experimental persocoms built to acquire full awareness and emotion. As Hideki and his friends search for the abducted Chi, others are watching them — others who know who built Chi, and why, and what went terribly wrong. It is already known that the affectionate persocom can, in fact, be quite dangerous... but the real danger is what the soul of this new machine means for the future of the human heart. Because it was never the computers who were weak, it was the people who made them, and if Hideki wants to truly save Chi, he needs the courage to truly love her!

I purchased this series because its a classic and I wanted to make sure I had it if it goes out of print. The story is still very interesting, because it is relevent to our times. Today people turn to their computer and the internet for companionship and avoid people, and the same happens in this series. The interesting question is can your computer really full fill all your hopes and desires? That is the question in this tale and the answer given is honest and sincere. That's what makes it so good, story telling like this is hard to find today and is well worth the money.

This volume definitely lived up to the previous one. It's a great story, mostly because the characters are so entertaining. Chobits follows an intriguing theme related to how the Persocoms and humans interact, which I frankly can't put properly into words. Something to note; the pace is pretty slow and character driven, so if you don't have the patience for a slow story then this isn't for you. The color inserts are pretty cool, but not that big of a deal. They really do add to the artistic element of the manga, though. For people who don't like when the art is changed for the translation, fear not. Most if not all of the original art is still there, as far as I recall. Overall I enjoyed it and I think most people would.
