This fascinating book holds an important key. Whether you’re interested in the science of thinking and beliefs, how your own mind operates, how others control your thoughts, why things just don’t work out for you, how you can create the life you’ve always wanted, how you can realize your true potential, how you can find peace, or, on a grander scale, how you can help make the world a better place, this book provides insights for all. Simply reading it will open your eyes to new worlds of possibilities. You’ll change once you’re exposed to the illusions most live under and by, and putting into practice any of these very simple teachings will open the door for you to achieve your highest potential.
Choices and Illusions tells the story of one man’s journey into the workings of the human mind and our reason for being. The adventure is every bit as exciting as the best scientific discoveries. Eldon Taylor’s approach is pragmatic, and his conclusions are inspirational and soul enhancing. Along the journey, you’ll hear fantastic stories of divine intervention, see why you think and do what you don’t wish to do, and understand the very clear message that it’s never too late to be happy and succeed, regardless of your past actions.
Eldon says, “Many believe that self-help and self-improvement is about rags to riches, failure to success, and so forth, when indeed it’s the beginning of a journey into self-discovery. Inside every human being is an eternal truth and a life purpose. Using our mind power is simply starting the engine on that path toward highest self-actualization.”

Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

“Read this book! We are living at a time when people are searching for answers to fundamental questions in their lives. This book can be, if applied, a road map to personal enlightenment and empowerment. I believe it can ‘tune in’ the frequency you are currently operating on. More important, it helps you see that you can manifest change.”
— John Edward, psychic medium and author of After Life and Understanding Your Angels and Meeting Your Guides

“Choices and Illusions is a smart, practical book by a grand master of the mind. If you want to get out of the box of your own thinking, and touch a greater reality, Eldon Taylor can show you how.”
— Joan Borysenko, Ph.D., author of Your Soul’s Compass and Inner Peace for Busy People

“Choices and Illusions opens our minds to explore inwardly—to explore how our minds work and how to harness our minds to become clear about our purpose in life and the Love that we are.”
— Gerald G. Jampolsky, M.D., author of Teach Only Love and Good-bye to Guilt

“This is an extraordinary and complete overview of mind and consciousness from someone who has been demonstrating it in his life for many years.”
— Lynne McTaggart, author of The Field and The Intention Experiment

“More and more people are reaching out today in search of answers to life. Sometimes the search is to understand relationships, improve performance, or become successful—unfortunately, most people look outside of themselves for both the answers and the best actions. They excuse themselves with rationalizations. If only the universe would give me a break. If only he or she would change. If only I had been born differently, and so on. If you’ve found yourself somewhere in life where you don’t want to be, then read Choices and Illusions.”
— Marci Shimoff, professional speaker and #1 New York Times best-selling author of Happy for No Reason, Love for No Reason, and Chicken Soup for the Woman’s Soul

“When you realize just how much of your actions are automatic and how many of your choices are actually made by your subconscious, you understand the illusion we all have lived most of our lives! Eldon Taylor’s book Choices and Illusions delivers both the path in and the way out to move from where you are to where you want to be, and it does so in straight talk everyone can understand. This book should be required reading for young and old alike!”
— C. Norman Shealy, M.D., Ph.D., author of Energy Medicine

“I can see why Choices and Illusions became a New York Times bestseller when it was first released—and this revised edition offers so much more. This is the best guidebook to show you how you got where you are and how you can get to where you would rather be. Once again, in his enlightening and compelling style, Eldon Taylor reveals inestimably valuable information to help you achieve the success you seek in any of your goals.”
— Sandra Anne Taylor, New York Times best-selling author of Quantum Success

“In Choices and Illusions, Eldon Taylor takes us on a delightful and provocative odyssey through the corridors of consciousness. Using solid science, practical spirituality, and common sense, he shows that our perceptions can be changed—and, once different, can catalyze dramatic improvements in our health and well-being.”
— Dawson Church, Ph.D., author of The Genie in Your Genes

    Incredible, Awesome, Exhilarating

I just wanted to say thank you !!!!! so very much from the depths of my very soul. I ordered 'Choices and Illusions' read it the day I received it. What an awsome book. For my entire life I've struggled, It has been by far an easy life. I have four Daughters. The past five years have been the hardest for me. I lost my Father, he died in my arms and then my Grandmother 'fathers side' a year later. Then seven moths later my Beautiful Jessica '17yrs of age' was killed in a horrible car accident. I'm still working through her death and the cicumstances involving the manner in which everything 'was not' handled properly. I have to tell you. I received Eldon's free downloads esteeMU, forgiving, leader, and stressfree. I listen to them every mourning for about 4hrs. Last Sunday I sat and listened to them from the time I woke until about 8pm only to take a bathroom break and to grab something to eat. I feel like such a weight has been lifted and so much better in my mind. I am addicted to these cd's and can not tell you how excited I am about getting the 10 cd's I ordered . I just can't wait! I know already without a doubt now that life has so much more GOOD! in store for me, at a time in my life when I thought there was nothing more left and I have to credit Eldon!!!!! Thank you sooooo!!!!!!! very very much! there just are no words to express my gratitude! They really do work! UPDATE! I recieved my cd's! I play them in my salon for my clients and myself every day and I have to tell you they really honestly and truely work! For the first time since my daughter's death I have been able to smile, Laugh, and have been getting back all my desires in life again. My clients all see and tell me what a difference they see in me and my other daughters say 'MOM what are you on' I just said 'it's my new cd's' they can not believe how happy I've become again. All I have to do is look at them! to see just what a difference Eldon's book and cd's have made in my life! I am so grateful to you Eldon. I wish everyone had the book and cd's. My clients all ask me when I tell them about what has helped me and then proceed to ask for the websitesite. Through all that I have been searching for since the death of my Baby girl 'In Loving Memory Jessica Stacey Dettrey' I know I may never get all the answers until I get to heaven but I will never stop thirsting for the answers and the knowledge here. Also through all that I have learned so far I am able to help others in return and that also makes me feel again. Again THANK YOU!so very much Eldon for your life, for your spirit, for your great knowledge, for you! and for helping me! People come to me for help now and I am so willing to help them and share what I have learned. Sheila Vogel Kresgeville Pa.

We are Multi-dimensional beings caught in a web of linear tim-E

We are Multi-dimensional beings caught in a web of linear tim-E. Eldon Taylor is like a long, tall cool drink of water in the Gobi Desert.

My mind is full of being mindful. After 26 years of consciously studying how energy vibration directly affects thought, word and action as well as the study of how we create cyclic patterns for ourselves; I couldn't agree more with what Eldon has to share in this book
    .
Choices and Illusions is a must read for anyone searching for answers on awakening their true magnificence and unlimited potential.

Eldon uses a story about an Eagle who thought she was a chicken .This was particularly meaningful to me as I have often asked my clients to picture every thought, like it were a bird. That bird goes out and gets exactly what it is that you have been thinking and brings it back to you every time when it finally turns into form.

I am great-full to you Eldon for sharing your gifts of inspiration and healing with the world. This one's for you..

    The Journey

The Eagle rose toward something new
Knowing not where it took him or which way he flew
The air was uplifting as he soared free and strong
The light of the heavens reached out for his song
Together, they melted and fused with the sun
But his feather was left to heal everyone

The new Revised edition of Eldon Taylor's, "Choices and Ill

The new Revised edition of Eldon Taylor's, "Choices and Illusions", which includes five brand new

chapters and also an InnerTalk CD, is an exciting and extremely informative look at the subconscious mind and its role in creating your world.

If you want to learn more about how the mind works, who better to go to than a man who has spent most of his life researching, experimenting, teaching, and applying the inner workings of the mind - that man is Eldon Taylor.

Anyone who has been around metaphysical teaching for long at all, will most likely already know your thoughts create your reality, or better put, the focus of your thoughts, the vibration of your thoughts, is what determines what you will pull out of the "quantum soup" of all that is. But do you realize that its not so much your conscious thoughts as it is your subconscious thoughts and beliefs that are doing the pulling. Knowing that, don't you think it is vital to know what kind of beliefs are stored in your subconscious, how they got there, and how to change them?

This is where Eldon's book comes in - he asks the question, "When was the last time you had an original thought?", and then reveals how much of what we believe, and therefore are creating in our lives, is based on messages we might not have even been consciously aware we were receiving, how our every day experiences are filtered through those beliefs that have been formed in the subconscious mind, often slipping in undetected by the conscious, thinking part of us.

Eldon then shows us how we can turn the tables, make our thoughts truly our own, and use the power of the subconscious mind to manifest the world we desire to see. As Eldon so wisely admonishes, "...the key to maximizing our experience rests in the incredible power of your mind. You can foster this power, nurturing it and allowing it to grow, or you can turn it (all of it or just parts of it) over to others. The choice is yours, and that is not an illusion!"

*FTC Disclosure: I received this book for free from Hay House Publishing for this review. The opinion in this review is unbiased and reflects my honest judgment of the product.

    Very Inspiring Reading!!

I found this book to be very inspiring. In establishing that our free will comes with responsibilities, primarily to self, but not at the sake of others, we can become empowered to make changes from within to ceate the sought after changes in our lives.
Allowing for the realization that much of our inner programming may indeed be holding us back from the "propensity for greatness" that lies within each of us. Embracing the knowledge, and applying the wisdom that can be unblocked through forgiveness of self, of others and through acknowledging and release of the fears that may keep us from any attempt at change.
And coming to the understanding that at times we may require additional assistance in retraining ourselves to allow for a wider range of perception, therefore allowing for a less challenging and more joy filled journey to our greatest self.
Being our greatest self allow us the have the self-esteem and character that allows us to live through our connection with the power that created us.
I am eager to experience Eldon's Inner Talk CD's and have ordered some as the feeling of connection I had while reading this book was very real to me. I am excited to add this tool to my bag of exercise's that I use to help me re-align my misinterpretation's of my past.
Thank You Dr. Taylor, I am always happy when a book has this kind of an effect on me - reinforces that knowing that life is always getting better and better!!

    Amazing Results

This is fantastic! I read Choices & Illusions and have been using one of the InnerTalk CDs, "Quantum Younging" since August. I have it in my alarm clock and it plays early in the morning while I'm still asleep. I've lost 29 lbs in the last 5 months and haven't consciously changed anything to release the weight. I eat fewer meals because I'm not that hungry, take good supplements and am drawn to more fresh foods and water. I'm more conscious of my body and it tells me what it wants when it needs it. I've noticed that I like myself more, have more enthusiasm for my life, more patience with myself and others, and my attitude has improved tremendously. I just turned 40 and I don't feel like it at all. My hair and nails are gorgeous, my cellulite is fading, I don't have a belly anymore and I've lost 2 pants sizes. I can see my abs! All with no exercise and no diet. I eat what I want. I also tried the CD, "Using Metabolism to Melt Fat Away" a couple of years ago and lost 12 lbs in 3 weeks. I intend to purchase more of these to improve other areas of my life and to share with friends. Thank you so much for this important and life-changing work.

    Fascinating read....

This book came so highly recommended from so many individuals whom I respect that I couldn't imagine not reading it. I found the book fascinating. I've been a student of spirituality and science my whole life. I loved how the author made the concepts simple and yet very strongly tied them in with the spiritual viewpoint of life which isn't always as easy to grasp. The essence of the Universe and Universal law is the Law of Attraction and the way it is activated is through our thoughts. Mr. Taylor very clearly explains the process and why it works. And Mr. Taylor has found a way, through his many years of research and experience, to expedite that process. I personally know the power and 'magic' of affirmations. But I also know that it's not easy to keep your mind and attention on the affirmations we've chosen and the path we know we would like to direct ourselves to. Mr. Taylor has a line of tapes that compliment and support the concepts in his book. I believe, approached with an open mind, and a willing heart......that there isn't anything you can't accomplish. I plan to purchase several of the tapes and additional copies of the book for myself and for loved ones.

Helps you take back your power!

At a time when we are being bombarded by the many problems in our country, this book is a well of inspiration to realize that you can take back your power and not let others influence you. The author makes you feel like you know him and that he is that 'best friend' that is guiding you to a new and better way to live in our world today. Yes, I was also a little put off by the many mentions to InnerTalk, and yet, the programs are so powerful and I see Eldon Taylor as a wise older brother who is pointing us in a new direction to make our lives work for us, each of us whatever our dreams for ourselves are..good read, easy read and makes you sit up and really think about things...if you are ready to go forward to a new future, this is a must read.

    I've Made My Choice

I just finished reading 'Choices and Illusions' last night. I couldn't help but think of several people close to me who could benefit from the ideas Dr. Taylor discusses in it. With the help of something that I read in the book, I was able to figure out the motivation behind a emotional reaction I had to something my husband had said or done that I didn't like. However, as I got towards the end of the book, like a lot of others who have written reviews, I found myself reacting negatively to the promotion of the 'Inner Talk' series, which was created by the author. Despite this, I wanted to try some of his CDs. Is this the result of subliminal messages in the book? Perhaps. But I want to know more, and I am willing to investigate the possibilities. After all, I consider myself, at almost 57, a work in process. I am excitedly waiting to see the results. I may even send some CDs to my friends and family.

Do we really have this much power?

A profoundly practical articulation of the phenomena of free will. Simple words about everyday questions mankind has asked for centuries--- his book connects science to the metaphysical. The strength of Eldon Taylor's convictions gives me goosebumps! You're missing a huge piece of the puzzle if you don't read it!

    A reviewer

In today's world we are constantly bombarded by information of all kinds. It would be so nice to think that all of it was true and helpful. Unfortunately that is simply not true as Dr.Taylor has so graphically pointed out. Our rational conscious mind can accept or reject information that we are aware of but when we are not aware of information input through the many kinds of subliminals we are bombarded with daily, that information becomes a part of our belief system and that alters our perceptions and responses to life and as he demonstrates these are self-feeding,self-fulfilling, life-altering systems. This book was a God-send to me and in over 50 years of studying self-help and metaphysical material this is probably the most impressive book I have come across. I enjoyed it immensely especially the way he uses stories of his own experiences to get his point across. He also covers a number of things I've never found in other booksand he covers the spiritual aspects without being dogmatic or evangelical. The book literally blew me away. I am recommending it to everyone I know (strangers too!!!) I am sorry for those who have a problem with Dr.Taylor pushing his CD's. You simply cannot achieve the same thing with a book that you can with a subliminal CD. All jobs can be done with a number of different tools but YOU still have to do the work. I think he has given us some wonderful tools to work with. Thank you Dr.Taylor for the work YOU have done and shared with us in order to make the world a better place. Namaste' Truthstudent Ken

    Good opportunity to differentiate choices

The book essentially looks at how we make choices and how we betray ourselves. It is well written and well worth reading and will provide you with insight. I would read it in combination with Optimal Thinking: How To Be Your Best Self to learn how to use your thinking to make the most of any situation and life.

This is a solid five stars and carry it with you!

I read the recommendations for this book on the first couple of pages and thought to myself, 'I hope it's just partially as good as all the praise says it is.' Okay, I read the book and then I read parts of it over, and over and over. Unreal! With clarity the likes of which I have rarely encountered, this jewel goes right to the nature of who we are, why we are and how we can become all that we know inside we are capable of but never quite accomplish. This is a solid five stars and carry it with you!

I read the original release of Choices many years ago, but when

I read the original release of Choices many years ago, but when the revised edition was announced I didn’t hesitate in agreeing to review the updated and expanded version. This book was an eye opener for me then, and it continues to expand my knowledge of mind and choice in a way no other book has. Eldon Taylor explains the mind through research and understandable explanations then systematically reveals how the choices we make everyday have been highjacked by life, the media, our peers and everything in between.
He doesn’t just point out how we’ve been stripped of our choices, but he teaches powerful ways we can take back our choices, our lives.
The power of belief can be very deceptive. Think about the last time you made a choice? Was it truly your own? Let me illustrate it this way. I remember as a child choosing between a Snickers or a York Peppermint patty whenever I was given the option to buy candy. But as I matured I realize that I wasn’t making a choice for me. My Dad loved snickers and my Mom loved York peppermint. Neither were my favorites, I was only choosing what I knew. Now I enjoy both, but my favorite candy bar is simply a dark chocolate bar. While this example is very simple, think about the analogy on the grander scale? Politics, prejudices, beliefs? Do you vote because of what you truly believe or because of what you were taught/hear on the radio?
Our entire life is based in choices. I for one have started to be more aware of what may influence my decision before I make one.

The human mind is extremely complex as Eldon Taylor again demons

The human mind is extremely complex as Eldon Taylor again demonstrates in his latest book, “Choices and Illusions”. Richly written, Eldon takes us on a journey into the power of the mind. While no book on the mind can be anything but complex, Eldon softens the depth of the information with strategically placed tales and stories that entertain as well as teach.

Do minds communicate with each other – is the basis of creativity more a group activity than an individual one? R. D. Laing
Quotes like this along with Eldon Taylor’s thought provoking research and easy prose make “Choices and Illusions” a provocative read.

“Choices and Illusions” provides an excellent base to begin the exploration of self, and of the unseen but compelling forces of society that have the ability to shape the basis of our beliefs and ultimately our personalities. It provides the tools necessary to begin harnessing the powers of your mind instead of leaving it run unfettered and potentially controlled by the power of hidden beliefs foisted on us by others. And more importantly, it provides telling evidence that the mind is the one thing that can change your life.

Although I found the last chapters weighed down with mentions of prior books and prose that was not as smooth as the earlier chapters, I still found “Choices and Illusions” an intriguing read. With plenty of references to other books on the subject, “Choices and Illusions” is an excellent jumping off point for anyone interested in enriching their lives by becoming aware of their most powerful tool, their mind.

    A Must Read for Empowerment

Choices and Illusions by Eldon Taylor is yet another outstanding resource in the field of empowerment healing. It is a well-researched piece that guides the reader through the process of the mind, it's power, and the importance of monitoring how it's programmed. Taylor not only provides scientific documentation to support his findings, he does so with an element of spirituality that is not common in the science community. Taylor uses personal stories, independent studies, inspirations, humility, and humor to share his message. The format is an easy read it holds your interest with enough facts to prove his point without becoming statistically boring. Some might not like the idea that the author is also promoting his products, but I feel the book gives the outline for guidance, and once you read the information, you'll see the products offered are the necessary tools for the job. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to understand why you are where you are, and how you can get to where you wish to be.

    Mind Science Tools For Life

Eldon Taylor¿s latest book is a nail-to-the-wall reminder of our innate power. Through consciousness, he tells us, we can access the greater mind. He says our behavior is ingrained in us as children. We learn to mimic our parents, schoolteachers, neighbors and relatives, how they think and behave. Taylor reminds us our early training is flawed. One day, when life no longer works, we struggle to find our way. We wander as if in a maze, uncertain which way to turn. Taylor¿s pathfinder guidance to a whole new world of heightened awareness is thorough. He shocks our senses with visuals demonstrating subtleties eluding us. He emphasizes the role belief plays in our self-made dramas. How we direct the show and how mind communicates the story. How thought travels faster than the speed of light on airways uncontrolled by the FCC. As master of inner talk, he emphasizes how the creative process is spontaneous and direct. No credit cards needed. Using Taylor¿s method you too can easily learn to access realms of mind beyond mainstream. Choices and Illusions explains how effective advertisers are in reaching their goal. How they aim to reach consumer's mind by appealing to base human desires. How our mind is vulnerable to suggestion. How repetition counts to indoctrinate behavior. Advertisers, newscasters, preachers and politicians all know how this works. You can know too. He invites you to test yourself with visuals to see what is not so easily seen. For myself, I continue to be fascinated with Taylor¿s research, learning about experiments in the mind realm and applying his tools to make a difference in my life. He is an expert teacher with great wisdom and tons of experience. I really enjoyed reading his book. You will too. Choices and Illusions is a must-read. Change is in the air after all.

Choices and Illusions is a delightful journey that reveals the highlights from Dr. Taylor's many years of extensive mind research, supported by the scientific research of others, along with his own personal spiritual discoveries and perennial wisdom. Reading this book may help you better understand the power of your own choices as you begin to lift the veils of illusion - both in what you see in the world, and what you see in your Self. I have tremendous respect for Dr. Taylor's passion, enthusiasm and dedication. He is a true pioneer in the field of human awareness.
