The Best Book Ever on This Topic

This book is one of the best for clearly distinguishing the difference between the world's way of dating and God's way of finding/choosing your mate. It provides practical insight and boundaries when going through the mate investigation. It also details a chart that has four fabulous phases of friendship that can keep one balanced while seeing if the person is the one. This is an excellent book for all Christian Singles and the boundaries it speaks of give no place to the enemy while waiting for your God choice. Be Blessed by it!

Get ready to be challenged to your relational core!

Having gone through the devastating experience of divorce, I wish I had read this book prior to deciding on my first mate. Since reading 'Choosing God's Best', I have been challenged to take a totally different approach to finding God's choice for me. The process of developing healthy, Godly relationships that Dr. Raunkar puts forward will be very helpful. There is hope for those of us who have been divorced. For those of you who have never been married, this book will be a critical step toward a successful, life-long marriage.

    Revolutionized !

This book is the perfect compliment for Joshua Harris' I Kissed Dating Goodbye. This book not only inspired but reinforced the Biblical truth of courtship versus dating. This is something that I want to pass on later to my children. Truly, it is more exciting to have God as our matchmaker!

    Choosing God's best

Choosing God's best, by Dr. Don Rauniker, teaches about the fundamentals of courtship. It impacted me personally more than any other non-fiction how-to books I have yet to read. I really enjoyed it because it was true to actual life, and was in the 'commoner's' language that someone like myself can understand. Dr. Rauniker goes over the pitfalls of the dating scene in comparison with the fundamental rules of courtship. Then as you go through the book he illustrates the almost complete foolishness that dating is, and then proceeds to define courtship and how to do it yourself. The reason I agree so completely with his doctrine is because the book is written from a Christian's viewpoint, and as a Christian I can see the sense of it. His main argument is to ask yourself this question, 'Do you want your mate to be a 'good choice, or a God choice?' ' His quotation of appropriate Bible verses also serves to strengthen his argument. In the introduction he quotes Jeremiah 29:11, as follows: 'For I know I have plans for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.' He calls courtship 'God's Antidote for Dating Disease,' and cautions readers that 'The principles of dating are man centered and culturally determined;...' and that '...dating prepares your for divorce...' and '...dating can leave long-lasting emotional scars...' Then later in the book, he gives several examples of couples who used to courtship process and how they are doing now. This book is very Christian based, and the theme is what the title implies, it shows you how to let God choose his best for you! This book really blessed me and it changed my outlook on the entire male/female relationship process in the world today. I think that in the years to come, this book will remain a lifesaver for those few people fed up with the whole dating scene.

Now I begin to see what's wrong with this generation. With all the social freedom, and we are still cannot define happiness.

This book has renewed my heart in following Christ through a total obedience in seeking my one and only future spouse. Courship sounds too traditional and boring, but if that's what it takes to get me a solid foundation for marriage, I will do it. This book will bring you a whole new perspective on 'Being the right one rather than seeking the right one'. This is time for a moral reformation for all Americans!!

    Excellent

I wish someone would have given me this book as soon I thought I was ready to date. After I finished reading the book for the first time. I wanted to start it all over again. There are so many messages in this book that I want to maintain in my spirit. This book inspired me to be God's choice for someone else (my soul mate).

    A unhelpful book on courtship

I didn't find this book helpful at all, but I do agree with the fact that we should wait on The Lord for the right mate but we must not sit on the side lines & have a pity party. We must do our part to meet people, develop Friendships, and have fellowship with other singles who are believers & fully devoted followers of Christ. That's how the Lord leads us to the right mate.

How should a Christian handle dating?

I was looking for guidelines for Christian relationships. I read 3 books and this one is the best of the 3. I treat reading like a 'contact sport' and you should see my copy, about 20 markers on important information I continue to refer back to. Dr. Rauniker spells it out clearly and still gives you options to work this in to your own faith. A must read for every single Christian! (I'm giving it as Christmas gifts this year!!)

Just what I needed to read

Dr. Rauniker has done an excellent job of making courtship practical and applicable to daily life. He actually helps readers to physically structure a relationship that promotes and encourages healthy marriage through healthy pre-marital relationship. I think this book is helpful for married people as well as singles. It also gives hope for those who have been divorced, widowed and those who have committed themselves to courtship after dating in the traditional manner. The history of dating in America was fascinating! Anyone who wants to know how to conduct a Christian male/female relationship and marriage must read this book.

If you want to know what love SHOULD be

If you want to know what love SHOULD really be, this book is for you. Dr. Rauniker is a down to earth man who will give the relationship thing to you straight. No holds barred. Pull out all the stops. This book will give you a fresh perspective on God's view of 'dating'. I have a hard time believing that anyone takes advantage of the 'Satisfaction Guaranteed, Money Back Offer' on the front of the book. My life was changed as a result of reading this book, and I know yours will too. This book is a fabulous read.

    Revolutionizing Relationships

This book gives an entirely new perspective on male/female relationships in the context of a Christian worldview. This book fills in the areas that I Kissed Dating Goodbye (by Joshua Harris) merely touched on. A wonderful and refreshing new outlook on a troubled and confusing dating scene. A must read for people of all ages, but especially those ages 14-28!
