Overview

Welcome to Flint, Michigan, one of the roughest little cities in America, a place where the good die young, loyalty is a rarity, and everybody has a hustle. Malek Johnson's hustle is the basketball court and he's the best Flint's projects has ever produced. He's on his way to the University of Michigan, but not for long, because all the NBA scouts say he's destined for the pros after a year or two of seasoning. He finds love in the super fine girl everyone calls Halleigh, and he promises her that he will take her out of the hood. When Halleigh's virginity is traded in exchange for her mother's drug tab, their dream spirals out of control and they are quickly separated and sucked into the life that they have so desperately tried to avoid. With no place to go, their destinies take them down separate paths. Malek becomes affiliated with the North Side's biggest kingpin and Halleigh is manipulated into the streets by his South Side adversary. North versus South, love versus loyalty, and lies versus truth. What will they choose? Walk with Halleigh and Malek as they introduce you to a new struggle in a new city . . . a place called FLINT.

I have read the 1st, 2nd and 3rd books of this series and I must say all 3 were outstanding. I am on pins and needles waiting for the 4th one because I must see how this all ends! Treasure, keep doing your thing!!

I must say I really enjoyed this book, but I wished it could have been a little longer. I guess I just have to get the 2nd Flint book. I can't possibly see how a mom could do that to her daughter what was wrong with her has she lost her mind I think she did totally!

Its sad when children are defenseless against the evil parents suppose to protect them from know matter the circumstances. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series hoping they are reconnected before its to late.

A page turner that gets sadder and sadder as the story progresses. I wish the characters could have received some relief from their misery but it did not happen.

Although this was a very short story, it was a page turner. The story line was a sad one but unfortunately this story is a reality for many young girls. I would love for there to be a day when no child has to endure what Halleigh and the other young ladies in the book had to. I also hope the Manolo's and those who feel like they can take advantage of others get their day as well. I hope the next book "Working Girls" is as interesting as this one.

This was a good book, it was a small book though, short story. I finished it in one day, even if it was a book with a lot of pages I probably would still had finished it in a day or 2. This is one of those books that you can't wait to find out what happens next. I don't want to go in detail and ruin it for those who haven't read it yet but the story is crazy, crazy how things happen. I recommend this book to others, the only thing is why there had to be so many sequels to the story, 7 books. I ordered book #2 because I need to know what happens next, based on how book #2 ends i'll decide if I want to read them all. I think she could had added a little more to the first book.

When i started reading the book I was pulled to Halleigh and Malek. I was pulled from all the love they shared with each other no matter what happened. The journey of reading this book has taken me on an emotion ride from start to finsh.
