"Spouses and children do not come with manuals and the learning curve can be very steep. Still, the Lord has an abundance of grace for each of us."—From the Introduction

The first in a series of Bible studies based on Proverbs 31, Chosen and Cherished gives readers the tools to build their marriage on the firm foundation of faith. Kimberly Hahn applies Scripture, Church teaching and pastoral wisdom to such practical matters as conflict resolution, communication skills, setting financial goals, healing the wounds of unfaithfulness and cultivating a spirit of generosity toward your spouse.

Discussion questions help readers apply the material to their own lives and make the book a valuable resource for small group discussion. Chosen and Cherished is also available on DVDs featuring a lively presentation of the material by the author.

    AMAZING! Great book for women!

My mom sent me this book and I let it sit for 6 months before opening it. Once I did, I couldn't put it down. It gave me Biblical references for how God wants me to live my life. This has greatly helped in my marriage as I see my role completely different. By serving my husband, I am serving God. In this modern world, that concept is not widely accepted and as a business woman this helped me understand it is a priveledge (not the sacrifice society makes it out to be) to serve the man that God has given me. A must read for all women - single or married!

Hi "Was Hoping for more." I'm sorry you did not find this book helpful. While there are a lot of scripture excerpts throughout the text, this book is "Biblical wisdom for your marriage."

In any event, scripture allows us to see how to live our lives to the fullest of our potential and delight in the love and peace that we were created to enjoy every minute of every day. So often we loose sight of the wisdom imparted in these scriptural messages because we get lost in the details and frustrations of the day -- which then negatively impacts our loved ones. The passages that Hahn includes are the origin of any marital advise a layperson can give. You say you were looking for more discussion of 'humanity,' But scripture is the foundation upon which happiness in every aspect of our human lives can be achieved.

    Was hoping for more.

The book wasn't what I thought it would be. According to the title I was hoping there would be more of 'how to' in marriage. I felt as though the scripture verses got in the way. There were too many of them. To me this was a Bible study. There was not enough 'humanity', I was hoping for real life situations and how they were handled. I would like to see this book re-done.
