Overview

Vampire Bast and his lover Trick are still alive, or not, and kicking in this sequel to Need! Still very human Trick is dealing with the difficulty of having a lover who can't go out in the sun, Bast is trying to accept the changes the world throws at him, and they're both working on understanding the bond between them.

Trick has asked Bast to feed on him alone, and while that's easy enough for Bast because of his deep love for Trick, it causes all sorts of complications. Their friends don't really understand what happens when Bast feeds on Trick, worried that Bast will somehow do his lover harm. Trick figures they're just jealous because he has Bast and they don't, but it could cause serious problems for the pair when their old crowd starts threatening to take Trick away.

To make matters worse, Trick knows he's not getting any younger, and he's starting to worry that he won't be able to keep Bast happy, or fed, for the rest of his life.

Can Trick and Bast settle the problems that seem to follow them? Or will they fold under the pressure of being a vampire and his Chosen?

Bast liked playing games.

It was just one of the things Trick loved about his lover. He grinned as he settled in with some popcorn and a Star Trek marathon.

He'd sent Bast on a chase. He'd set the whole thing up yesterday, each clue would lead Bast somewhere else for the next clue and eventually, back home again to find him. Hopefully, by the time Bast found him here on their bed, his lover would be starving and horny.

Those were a good combination.

In the meantime, he had bad TV to mock.

It wasn't long before the elevator started creaking and whirring, distracting him from Kirk and Spock.

He looked down at his barely touched popcorn and hit time on the remote, frowning. Surely Bast wasn't back already? He wasn't even naked yet, let alone had the dildo he had planned to be fucking himself with lubed up and ready to go.

The grate didn't rise; there wasn't a sound, just the yellow light pouring out. He put aside his popcorn and stood up slowly, but he couldn't see anyone from the bed.

He quietly made his way over to the elevator. It was empty except for a single, blood-red rose with a tiny key attached by a creamy ribbon, resting fragrant on the floor

Trick grinned. Not only had Bast figured him out way earlier than he'd expected, but his lover was turning the tables on him. Still grinning, he opened the grating and picked up the rose, undoing the bow to get to the key. The little shining bit of metal was familiar, the one to a silver pair of bonds Bast had kept for god knew how long. He turned, heading over to their toy chest where the cuffs should be, when the elevator headed back up.

It didn't take long to find the handcuffs, the onlyquestion was--should he be wearing them or should Bast?
