A Chowhound's Guide is a tremendous resource for everything from upscale to hole-in-the-wall restaurants but the focus is on GOOD FOOD! It's much hipper and more up to date than Zagat's! The layout of the book at first appears to be a little chaotic but you quickly get used to it sorta of like the Chowhound.com web site, from which this book is distilled. When you think about restaurant guidebooks no order is really sufficient whether it's by restaurant name, by cuisine, or by neighborhood. But this book has one of the best indexes for finding what you want - the index alone is over 100 pages. In addition to being an excellent restaurant guide - it's a great read! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
