Christ Conspiracy: The Greatest Story Ever Sold

One of the Most importan books of the modern era

I have been asked by the author to write a foreword to her upcoming book ¿Suns of God.¿ Because I try to never accept any charge without fully understanding the material and the ideology of the writer, Acharya was kind enough to send me a copy of the Christ Conspiracy, which I had read in my last year at seminary. As an ex parochial Vicar, and a reasonably learned Biblical Historian, I feel I have the education to undertake an objective view of The Christ Conspiracy. The stand of Christianity is that Yeshua Ben Joseph is, as the New Testament claims, the only begotten son of God, whose sacrifice was made to save us from our sins. However, there exists more than overwhelming evidence that not only was Yeshua, or ¿Jesus¿ not anyone of special abilities or a divine personage, but in fact probably never existed as a real person. As I re-read The Christ Conspiracy I was able to recognize many of the author¿s conclusions that I had myself stumbled across in my nearly eight years as a seminary student. It was my quest to understand the oldest manuscripts we have on the life of Jesus that prompted me to undertake fours years of Koine Greek, the language of the New testament, as well as over three years of Aramaic, Hebrew and Latin. I was very surprised at what I found. The translations were more polemics than true translations. I had, at that time found only one scholarly writer who seemed to have the required language skills and historic training to make these same deductions. As a reader of these ¿dead¿ languages, Acharya has access to the earliest copies of the claimed Holy Scripts. What becomes clear in The Christ Conspiracy is that the author does not begin from a theological point, that the Bible is fact and expands from there, but instead from a scientific and historical point, assuming nothing and allowing the materials to spe4ak for themselves. The results are rather extraordinary. The material is presented in a chronological and factual way, and can be cross-referenced by a reading of earliest Greek and Aramaic texts. What seems overwhelmingly clear is that the humanity of Jesus, long debated by Christian scholars, is laid out in such fine detail using the writing of the ¿Early Church Fathers¿ that the very existence of Jesus is shown to be myth. Entered ideology of Paul¿s followers sometime around 150 CE this savior is merely the creation of many threads of Christian sects, which by that time had spread across the Roman world. The purpose of these Church Fathers, according to the author, was to create a unifying state religion for Rome by absorbing all other religions in part or whole and melding them within Christianity. The author has proven her thesis by showing, rather clearly that the previously dominant gods were made into Saints or Angels or even Apostles, all subject to this new god. Acharya places before the reader an overwhelming amount of excellently formulated information. Readers will soon see the connection between the ancient zodiacal religions, and early Christianity. Many people, atheist or agnostic may discount the divinity of this man Jesus, but accept that the man did exist. This question has never been shown better than in this book. Christianity, as many of us know, is a fraud perpetrated on pliable and emotionally immature minds. Should these same people allow themselves to read this book with an open mind, many would abandon their ¿faiths¿ as mental pabulum. Finally, I am saddened to see this book suffer the same suppression that my own books have due to their titles alone. For anyone seeking truth need but read this book and the title will become clear.

The Most Mindblowing Book I Have Ever Read

If the Bible is the most important book ever written, then "The Christ Conspiracy" is the most important book written since. I take the conspiracy part with a grain of salt, as all good skeptics should, but what the author reveals about the true meaning and origins of the Bible is astounding and yet much more believable than conventional wisdom. The author disects the Bible book by book revealing its origins in ancient solar astrology. The meaning of the most baffling passages, ones which have tormented theologians for centuries, become crystal clear. Acharya has also clearly done her homework. The bibliography is one of the most extensive I have ever seen. If you have ever wondered what this fascinating and puzzling book called the Bible is all about, you should begin (but not end) with this amazing book.

The Christ Conspiracy Is A Fantastic Book

Everyone should read this book. I always wondered if the Krishna stories that Alexander the Great brought to Jerusalem from India influenced the writers of the Bible. Now I know for a fact that they did!

Interesting Theory...

...unfortunately, it is just that. This book reminds me of the latest craze, Dan Brown's 'The Da Vinci Code,' in that the overall package is wrapped neatly in a outer covering of seemingly probable facts. However, with very little effort on the part of an investigative reader it is quite clear to see that neither theory has been researched in depth. Both come across as intelligent on the surface, yet neither offer any authentic historical perspective that will prove the non-existence, or surprising relationships (in the case of Brown's fictional novel), of Jesus Christ. Ultimately, one is left to ponder why Acharya has even bothered to write this book. Historical records have proven in endless detail that the man Jesus existed. These documents have been shown to be authentic, and have been proven by the eyewitness accounts of people who were not believers and had nothing to prove (thereby further proving their truthfulness). Therefore, the problem does not lie with whether the man Jesus actually existed. The problem lies with whether or not he was the prophesied Messiah, the Son of God. My advice to Acharya is as follows: if you're going to argue a point, get your facts straight, and next time try using an argument that might actually hold some water. There is a reason why this is 'the only book of its kind, destined for controversy.'

An extremely important book

With a bibliography of over 100 titles, this is a well-researched book. Ironically enough, the best book used to discredit the Bible was the Bible itself. This is an important, well-written book, and I'm not in the least bit surprised that the Christians hate it with such blinding passion.

a biased work that ignores counter- evidence

In this work the author claims that Christ is a myth. He supposedly was created by the mystery schools. Since she is claiming a conspiracy... who then is behind the conspiracy? She mentions the masons, so lets go a step further and mention the most secret of secret societies within the masons; the illuminati. She claims that not only Christ, but Buddha and all the religious figures in history were all the result of invention by the secret society to control mankind. She presents a large body of evidence to back up her claim. The problem is that a mass of evidence is not necessarily proof of anything. Truth is found by looking at evidence and COUNTER-EVIDENCE. It is right here that the book falls apart. The counter evidence established by thousands of years of research on supporting the existance of Christ and the validity of the bible. The author presents one side of the evidence and then claims truth! This is NOT how truth is found. Truth is found by ALL THE EVIDENCE and evidence alone, not by PH.Ds, not by I.Q. and not by anything else but evidence. The book though is a textbook example of a faulty conclusion. The author takes evidence while ignoring or trivializing contradicting evidence. This alone would disqualify it from being a truth claim. I gave the book two stars because it presents evidence for the other side, but its arguments and claims do not overthrow the evidence for Christ. If one wants to read what the pagan religions actually were one should read Morals and Dogmas by Albert Pike. Although I dont agree with everything Pike had to say, he does show that the pagan religions were a form of primitive Christianity.

Outstanding Book for the Logical Person.

Ever since I read the Bible,I've had always had doubts about man made religion.The author of this book backs her argument with astounding facts. She mentions Gerald Massey in her book. He was one of the firsts authors to document that Christianity was a fabricated religion. I was really impressed how she explain the contradictions of the Wise Men and Herod in the Bible. If your logic or just plain common sense is not raised after reading this book, then I don't know what or who can help you.

If you doubt your faith in Christ, start here

However do not let this book be your only guide. The author give an interesting view on the origins of Christianity yet the development of the book could have been better. She has her resources but it was like she spent most of her book quoting from her sources than using her own words to get her point across. Nonstop you read, 'As so-and-so put it:' followed by a lengthy quote from another book. She has some interesting points and it is good she backs up her claims but this book is written like a high-school report. I'd give her three stars for effort though. This is a good book to start but see the recommended list for other books.

impressive scholarly analysis - The Definitive Rebuttal of Religious Blind Faith

Acharya S, a remarkable well-rounded scholar, makes the irrefutable case that the Christ character is a mythological composite, with the religion that evolved around him being a device to consolidate power, while passing on astrological and astronomical information to the secret society initiates, whose sects have been creating these symbolic myths for thousands of years. This book displays great scholarly detective work and level-headed thinking on the part of the author. She focuses on historical documents and creates a case that would stand up in any court of law with an impartial judge. My only disappointment is that the story isn't taken back further in time, to the origins of the secret societies and occult groups, which I think would put this conspiracy in a larger context. Perhaps speculations about Atlantean civilization and ET factions would be a lot harder to document, so that book might have to wait until more evidence is made available for researchers.

MOST IMPORTANT BOOK EVER WRITTEN ????

The Most Important Book Ever Written ? February 7, 2000 Is Acharya's book, 'CHRIST CONSPIRACY', the MOST important book ever written ? I would have to answer yes, and I can explain why. It goes like this: Most people would agree that the BIBLE is one of the MOST important books ever written, good or bad. Well if that is true, and Acharya's book DEMOLISHES the BIBLE, which it clearly does if you take the time to read it, then logically, Acharya's book becomes the MOST important book ever written. I used to be a HARD CORE Christian because I SOUGHT the TRUTH in all things. Well my desire for truth is so strong that when I found out that Christ NEVER existed, in large part with 'Christ Conspiracy's compelling presentation, THAT truth became VERY important to me because of the MILLIONS under the influence of what 'Christ Conspiracy' debunks. Acharya's book is the MOST potent and concentrated Knock Out punch to Christianity as well as all other similar religions [islam, judaism etc] I have ever read. It is extremely well researched and documented. When you read the book you will be able to look over thousands of years of history and really understand how all this could happen, partly due to misunderstanding, and partly due to intentional deception. The book explains EVERY detail in fascinating detail. There is no agenda in the book other than simple truth, as hard as it is for some to accept.

She has a few points but overall I disagree

While over the Thousand years the mistakes have been made in copying the Bible by hand and that Certin people have changed the Bible to suit their own goals such as King James to name a few and that Luke,John,Mark, and Matthew were in all likly hood not wriiten by them. But I don't think it was some massive conspiracy.

Ummm, no

Ok, this book is nothing more than a collection of excuses by the author to deny the moral law written upon her heart. It's actually rather humerous reading for someone who is knowledgeable of the truth, however I wouldn't recommend the waste of valuable time. This is yet another sad attempt to discredit Christianity, and I hate to tell this lady, but it's not going anywhere.

Mythologizing the Mythology of the Christ Conspiracy

I guess it's understandable that a publishing cottage industry has organized to denounce organized religion. But "The Christ Conspiracy: The Greatest Story Ever Sold" has to be the most hateful, bigoted, and just plain idiotic tome I've ever witnessed. "Acharya S" follows a sophomoric formula: bring in the offbeat opinions of religion haters, conspiracy buffs, and her coworkers at Steamshovel Press; discount every pertinent fact and favorable tradition established by three millennia of theology and academia; and when in doubt overlook the facts, claim forgery of those proofs contrary to your thesis, and exaggerate to the max. She even blames organized religion for slavery, Fascism, and Communism! How naive can one get? What might she have examined along these lines? But alas, the truth intimidated her even more than those wolves in sheep's clothing hiding in churches! The mind can be a terrible waste, as Acharya S amply demonstrates.
