This is probably one of the most complete books on apologetics that I have come across. Douglas challenges you and at the same time doesn't overwhelm you with explanations that you can't understand. In many ways the book reads like a story. Each chapter starts by creating the scene for which that chapter will address, followed by the Biblical basis for the apologetics, defends the truth, and then addresses the other arguments. His ultimate goal is making the Biblical case. The book is broken into 3 sections plus Appendices: 1. Apologetic Preliminaries With chapters covering Christian Worldview, distortions of the Christian Worldview, truth defined and defended, Why Truth MattersMost, etc 2. The Case for Christian Theism Chapters covering Ontological Argument, The Design Argument, Evidenc of Intelligent Design, Moral Argument for God, etc 3. Objections to Christian Theism Chapters covering Religious Pluralism, Apologetics and th eChallenge of Islam, The Problem of Evil, etc 4 Appendices Hell on Trial, Apologetics Issues in the Old Testament This book is organized well, has numerous and I mean numerous references that show how well researched this book is. This book should be read by all Christians that want to be able to defend their faith. As the author says in his book: "God is an apologetical God, the Bible is an apologetical book, and Christ is an apologetical Christ. Therefore, it is imperative for Christians to defend and commend Christianity ardently, knowledgeably, and wisely."Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
