Christian Looks to the Bible for Guidance on Abortion 2.2 out of 5 based on 0 ratings. 25 reviews.

The author twists Scripture to support the view that abortion is allowable in certain circumstances. The particular passage he uses to support this view does not even say what he suggests. Neither the English language nor the Hebrew language support his conclusions. Even worse, he ignores everything else the Bible has to say about abortion and when life begins. I would expect this kind of interpretation from a third-grader, not from a serious theologian. Mistating the text and drawing conclusions from the mistatement can never be considered sound methods of interpretation.

A more appropriate title would be "A pro abortion person scours the bible to find support for abortion but finds nothing". The only verse the author can come up with is a verse about the accidental death of an unborn child which he twists and distorts to justify the purposeful intentional killing of tens of millions of innocent unborn children. The verse he cites is Exodus 21:22 "And if men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that she has a miscarriage, yet there is no further injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman's husband may demand of him; and he shall pay as the judges decide." - NASB. The author completely ignores verses in the bible that demonstrate that the bible is unequivocally pro life such as the following: Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, And before you were born I consecrated you" - NASB. Luke 1:41 "And it came about that when Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the baby leaped in her womb" - NASB Luke 1:15 "For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and he will drink no wine or liquor; and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, while yet in his mother's womb. - NASB. How ironic that this book was published by "Murder Creek Publishing".

Contrary to what other BIASED reviewers have said, the support this short essay uses to back up its claim IS valid. One can test this by looking at how ancient Hebrew prietes have interpreted the verse, an it is as he says. In actuality, it is those Christians who are reverse-engineering their arguments to support what they claim the Bible says. If one looks at the Bible plainly, and WITHOUT bias, it is ABUNDANTLY clear the Bible never specifically speaks out against abortion.

How would you like it if your parents decided they didn't want you enough to keep you? Its horrible how people can be so unfeeling for the life of another person. Just because they can't take care of their baby doesn't mean they should take away the infant's chance of living. There is still adoption. The fact is by killing a child you may be hurting the chance of discovering something like an actual cure for AIDS. The child that just got heartlessly murdered might would have an impact on society no matter what. Pro life...

After faulting debates based on limited data and pulled out if context, the author uses 1 Bible quote without old testament social mores cobtext.

People of faith, come on! Your going to let a controversy, a stupid argument, tear you apart? If there's one thing the bible stresses, it is that we are brothers and sisters! Your stuck with your family, even if they make choices that others find wrong. AGREE TO DISAGREE AND BARRY THE HATCHET! Pro life, there is no denying that this practice can be used to save a mother's life if the baby wont survive through birth and it will kill her in the process. Pro choice, no matter how much you think it will help, and even if it might, there will always be a evil and thoughtless teenager who will abuse it and go on her merry way again. So people, unless nuderering and chasity belts come back into fashion, there will never be an answer. SO STOP JUDGING AND START TREATING THOSE YOU HAVE WITH RESPECT, NOT OPINIONS AND MUD SLINGING.

The author was so wrong. Don't be mistaken. This book is pro choice and the only verse the author came up with didn't even support his views very well. The author said abortion was okay because the penalty for accidentally killing an unborn baby in the Bible was not as severe as that of accidentally killing a person who has already been born. HELLO? It's still wrong. Just because God doesn't punish it AS severely as murdering adults doesn't mean He's saying "Yeah, okay go ahead and kill your babies." If you are a pro life Christian you will find this book very offensive.

The author seems biased about his opinions. I feel like he is twisting the words of the Bible, also.
