Great book for the holiday season

This was a gift given to me as a pre-Christmas happy. It has now become tradition to read this book every Christmas. Very easy read with a good message. The characters are great. Plot line is humorous and warming. Highly recommend for read aloud to kids or just for yourself. Really brings the true meaning of Christmas back into focus.

    Heartwarming Inspirational

Edith Ryan welcomes a myriad of guests into her Christmas Valley, Oregon bed and breakfast after learning that her children and grandchildren will not be home for the holidays. Inspired by her husband's sermon on hospitality, she is reminded that she could be 'entertaining angels unawares.' This novella is well written with characters that the reader will soon embrace. The Christmas message is prevalent throughout and is a perfect read during a frosty winter's night. Highly recommended!

    more from this reviewer

    Highly Recommend

This book is excellent! It should be read by everyone just to remind them that not everything is as it seems and people, regardless of what they wear, what they drive, and their age, are people too! And all need the love and care that we can give.

Well written, loved the characters! Made me call my parents and tell them I loved them and hopefully, next year I'll be there for Christmas.

    A good book

I enjoyed reading this book. It's interesting to see how people treat each other without truly understanding one another.

    Nice Christmas Read!

I fully enjoyed this book, which told the story of a small community who had to accept outsiders during the Christmas season. A very good reminder to consider strangers who come into our lives as those to whom we can show kindness and the love of God. Yes, it is definitely a book with a Christian theme, which I love, being a Christian, but the overall message is one that everyone can learn from.

    What a wonderful story!

The perfect Christmas reading experience! This book reminds us that angels are among us and most likely do not seem like possible angels. This story was really, really good and has the honor of being placed on my Nook shelf "Books Worthy of Being Read Again".

It was just one of those books that you can't wait until you can sit down and read it. I will definitely read more books by this author.

I thought this book was okay.It had its humorous moments and the message was nice. I didn't think that there was closer on a lot of the characters. Some of the story felt as if it was written by a middle schooler, too plain and simple. Did I enjoy it? Yes. Would I rush to read more by this author? Probably not.

I love to read lots of Christmas stories during the Christmas season, and this was a very enjoyable read. This was free which made it even better. "All I Have To Give" was another of Melody Carlson's that was free, and I enjoyed that one even more. I will probably look for more books by this author.
