Since 1984, Mannheim really composer and audiophile Chip Davis has sold over 18 million Christmas albums, and for the 2001 season, they've cooked up a special treat. The Christmas Collection features the latest Mannheim album, Christmas Extraordinaire -- which includes "O Tannenbaum," performed by Johnny Mathis -- specially packaged with the three original Mannheim holiday discs. All Music Guide
Issued in 2001, the Christmas Collection box set presents four of the finest Yuletide albums by composer Chip Davis' amazingly successful Mannheim Steamroller project, including the original 1984 runaway hit, "Christmas." For those seeking a generous dose of Davis' holiday tunes, this is an excellent compilation, as it ranges from Steamroller' majestic, synth-laden take on "Deck the Halls" to a spare, gentle version of "O Little Town of Bethlehem.,"

    A reviewer

I have in the past bought each of these CD's individually but intend to buy the set because I have played my others until they are worn out. Disk 1 is very uplifting and is my favorite because it does bring my spirits up and makes the Christmas Season come alive and helps me truly appreciate what Christmas represents. Thank you.
