Overview

Thoughts of Christmas become joyful poems in this celebration of the holiday season. 27 poems illustrate the anticipation, delight, and warmth of Christmas-time. These charming verses will wrap readers up in the exhilaration of decorating the house in Christmas finery, going on the hunt for the perfect tree, and all of the other wonderful events of the holiday season. Accompany a family as they excitedly prepare for Christmas, enjoy the holiday, and then carefully put it all away until next year.
Lovely watercolor illustrations by Mary O'Keefe Young bring to mind Christmas tree lights and shiny presents, the smell of Christmas cookies, and cold snow—great for sledding and building funny snowmen. The joys of Christmas are brightly illuminated in warmly illustrated poems that children will read again and again, year after year.
