‘Tis the season to fall in love in these four small towns.
In “Christmas in Shelter Bay,” New York Times bestselling author JoAnn Ross returns to Shelter Bay, where Kelli has long tried to keep her feelings for her friend Cole a secret. But when the local matchmakers conspire to send them to a secluded lakeside cabin, the two friends soon discover that a little love will keep them warm.

TV producer Nathaniel Ravelle knows the Bayberry Island mermaid legend is a joke— how could a statue grant a wish for true love? But when a Christmas Nor’easter lands him in close quarters with local Annie Parker, they see magic at work in matters of the heart in New York Times bestselling author Susan Donovan’s “A Seaside Christmas.”

In LuAnn McLane’s “Mistletoe on Main Street,” Clint isn’t sure how to rekindle his romance with high school sweetheart Ava—until his father bows out of playing Santa at the annual Cricket Creek holiday parade and Clint gets the chance to make this Christmas one to remember.
And in Alexis Morgan’s “The Christmas Gift”, business is booming at Bridey Roke’s pastry shop. Everyone in town stops in to sample her holiday treats.  But in her spare moments, she’s perfecting a special recipe to charm the handsome new neighbor—who has his own surprise gift for her come Christmas Eve!

You'll practically smell the cinnamon, nutmeg, and pines as four popular contemporary authors take readers for a nostalgic, soul-warming stroll down Main Street in each of their respective series' small towns in this holiday-infused collection. A snowstorm and some helpful family members ensure a merry Christmas in a cozy cabin for two friends who should be so much more in Ross's heartfelt "Christmas in Shelter Bay"; a TV producer heads for Bayberry Island to scope out the local mermaid legend for the show Truly Weird and finds himself captivated by a lovely writer of erotica in Susan Donovan's sassy, slightly magical "A Seaside Christmas"; a baseball coach returns to Cricket Creek after 15 years away and sets about wooing his teenage love in LuAnn McLane's touching "Mistletoe on Main Street"; and Snowberry Creek's talented baker is attracted to a quiet newcomer who is more than he seems in Alexis Morgan's delicious and thoroughly rewarding "The Christmas Gift." VERDICT Pleasing, sexy, touching, and funny, this well-done anthology has something for everyone who's ever yearned for a small-town Christmas.

All of the stories were good. Enjoyed the ones about Shelter Bay and Snowberry Creek the best.

I've only read LuAnn McLane's story "Mistletoe on Main Street" and already I'm in the holiday mood. Set in small town Cricket Creek, KY it tells the story of a young love given a second chance when Clint comes home to help his ailing father. Will his first and only real love, Ava, give him a second chance...and more importantly, a really nifty Christmas gift? A lovely tale of small town sense of community and love that doesn't fade with the years. 3 more stories to go in this anthology - I can hardly wait. P.S. I got an ARC for free, but was not obligated to pen a favorable review.

Christmas On Main Street has four delightful stories, perfect for any holiday season. Christmas In Shelter Bay by JoAnn Ross delivers the back story of Cole Douchett and Kelli Carpenter. Cole is back home after a long deployment trying to figure out what is next for him. Kelli has long had feelings for Cole and is finally getting over him. That is until the town matchmakers strand them in a cabin over the holidays. Susan Donovan’s A Seaside Christmas has TV producer Nathaniel Ravelle seeking answers to the legends of Bayberry Island. His plans get way laid when he ends up sick on the doorstep of Annie Parker. Spending time with Annie changes everything for them both.   Mistletoe On Main Street is another fun story by LuAnn McLane set in Cricket Creek.  Clint Sully is back in town trying to start over. He agrees to play Santa and gets his old high school sweetheart as Mrs. Clause. Can Clint get Ava to give him another try? Alexis Morgan pens The Christmas Gift. Bridey Roke is trying to make her coffee shop grow. She has a willing test subject in Seth Kyser.  Seth is more then willing to be at Bridey’s service, but will she forgive him when she finds out his real identity? Christmas On Main has four wonderful stories that will keep you in the holiday spirit long after Christmas has passed. I highly recommend this book.

3.5 stars I love Christmas novellas and Christmas on Main Street was a delightful read.  I found each of the stories in this anthology to be charming and romantic, and I have to say that I enjoyed each of them, which range from small town romance, to magic, mermaids, and legends.  You have high school sweet hearts and rekindled love, and who doesn't love romance and cupcakes.  Each story is fast-paced, heart-warming, and though short, had substance and were very good.  Overall this is a great holiday collection and well worth checking out.

Put yourself in the holiday spirit by reading these four heart-warming, romantic stories by four outstanding authors. Each story will take you to charming towns with wonderful characters and rich love stories. Get lost in the spirit of Christmas as you read these stories, all based in small towns, with a ” hometown” feel to them. I loved all of the stories, the way they captured the holiday magic as the characters decorated and prepared for Christmas in their own ways. In each novella, the hero and heroines were helped along the way by nosey, interfering, and yes, helpful, and supportive characters that will leave you with a smile on your face. If you’re looking for a way to get into the spirit of Christmas, or just want a few great, short stories to read, pick up a copy of Christmas on Main Street, and get lost in these fun, quick reads. Christmas on Main Street is a collection of four Christmas novellas that will touch the hearts of readers this Christmas. Each of the four authors gives the reader a novella set in the world of a series they have already created which makes them even more entertaining. Christmas time is such a joyous time of year and each of these stories has the spirit of Christmas at it's heart.  JoAnn Ross's story, "Christmas in Shelter Bay," centers around the oldest of the Douchett boys, Cole and Kelly. The local matchmakers decide to help turn friendship into love when the two are stranded in a secluded cabin. Ross's Shelter Bay series is one of my favorites and I really enjoyed this story about Cole. I think readers will love the characters and how they interact in this one. Christmas isn't far away and love is in the air. Susan Donovan's story, "A Seaside Christmas," is set in her Bayberry Island world where a local statue of a mermaid is said to grant true love. When Nathaniel slips on the ice and has to be nursed back to health by Annie, he begins to believe that maybe the stories are true. I thought Donovan did a great job with her small town setting for this one. Bayberry Island really comes to life and readers will find this Christmas season full of surprises. LuAnn McLane's story, "Mistletoe on Main Street," is a classic second chance romance with two former high school sweethearts that find the sparks are still there after all this time. I loved this one. The story is just very romantic and tender. I like a good Christmas romance and this one really hit the spot. It was evenly paced and had a great feel good atmosphere to it.  Alex Morgan's story, "The Christmas Gift," was one of those stories that just felt inspiring. Both the hero and the heroine were so deserving of finding love and Morgan adds a bit of a surprise at the end that was very satisfying. I thought it was a great way to close the collection and keep the readers feeling like Christmas even after the book was over. Overall this was a well put together Christmas collection. I liked the fact that each story corresponded to the world that these authors are used to writing about, it added a feeling of quality vs. quantity to it. Though the stories were short, they were very good. This collection really put me in the mood for Christmas music, cocoa and putting up the tree. It's a good one, you don't want to miss!

“Christmas in Shelter Bay” by JoAnn Ross I really wasn’t feeling the chemistry in this story. Cole grew up with Kelli’s older brothers. Kelli, being eight years younger, has had a crush on Cole since she was very young and been in love with him for years. Cole is ignorant to her feelings until all of the sudden this Christmas he decides that he wants to pursue here.  I didn’t get the connection, just last year Cole proposed to someone else and now this year all of the sudden he wants Kelli, no preamble or nothing? I have not read the series so I may be missing some things but I just wasn’t feeling Cole and Kelli. Although, I’m glad that Cole finally wised up and Kelli was finally able to have the man of her dreams. “A Seaside Christmas” by Susan Donovan Can a bronze mermaid statue guide people to their happily ever afters? Well on Bayberry Island it seems it’s possible. Abe has traveled to Bayberry with the purpose of finding out about “mermaids.” As he gets off the ferry during a terrible ice storm, he slowly makes his way into town and ends up slipping on the ice right in front of Annie’s door. Annie is busy typing away on her latest Captain/mermaid erotica book when she hears a loud noise outside. As she goes to investigate she finds a man unconscious on her doorstep. Is this a Christmas miracle or the work of the Great Mermaid herself? Susan Donovan is a new author to me and I absolutely loved this story. The dialog and the characters had me laughing out loud and I loved the light-hearted feel of it. The romance was fast and hot and the spirit of Christmas was not far behind. I am well and truly a Susan Donovan fan now and I look forward to reading more about the people and the mermaid legend of Bayberry Island. “Mistletoe on Main Street” by LuAnn McLane A short Christmas story where more than one love gets a second chance!Boy meets girl, boy dates girl for two years. Boy gets baseball scholarship and breaks up with girl. Girl pines for boy for 15 years. When boy finally shows back up and wants to rekindle what they had, girl is hesitant. Slowly she lets her guard down and allows him into her heart. Will he break it again or has he truly changed and girl can finally claim the man of her dreams?  “The Christmas Gift” by Alexis Morgan Bridey has caught the eye of a new man in Snowberry Creek. Seth is friendly but doesn’t talk much and Bridey can’t stop looking his way either as he visits her shop almost daily. Has cupid cast his arrows upon Bridey or will she get her heart broken again by this quiet, mysterious stranger? I loved this story! After a terrible ex-husband, I’m glad Bridey finally found a good one. Seth is quiet for a reason; he sometimes speaks with a stutter so he often stays silent. Bridey doesn’t see anything but the heart beneath his flannel shirts that endear her closer to him each day. It’s a beautiful happy beginning for these two who couldn’t be more deserving. ***I received an ebook copy from the publisher via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 REVIEW:  Christmas in Shelter Bay: This was a sweet little christmas story of a love that has been growing since before they even understood what true love was. Cole & Kelli have been friends since childhood. While Kelli has always know that Cole was the one for her it has taken Cole just a tad bit longer to realize that his life will never be complete without Kelli.  Adding a meddling family and you have a really fun story. A Seaside Christmas: I didn’t connect with this story. It was an interesting twist on a christmas story, but was not for me.  Mistletoe on Main Street: This was a good story. Clint & Ava were childhood sweethearts but life and the chance for the major leagues took him away. But while 15 years have past neither of them have forgot the love they shared. But it might take a christmas miracle to get Ava to open her heart up to him again.  The Christmas Gift: This was my favorite story in this anthology. I just loved Seth & Bridey they are so sweet together. I loved that these two were so perfect to each other.
