Overview

Sensational vocalist Linda Eder has a resonance so beautiful, she has become one of America's most endearing performers. From her stint with Broadway's Jekyll & Hyde and various television appearances, Eder's seasonal effort Christmas Stays the Same (2000) is most appropriate. Her vocal dynamics featured on her sophomore album It's No Secret Anymore (1999) made Eder's warm compositions a favorite among critics, so naturally her Christmas album does the same. She handpicks her own holiday favorites such as "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town," "Silent Night," "Little Drummer Boy," and "Ave Maria" for a delightful collection of sonic mastery. She is assisted by a full orchestra on several tracks, making Christmas Stays the Same even more exquisite. It's a pleasing release for any fan of holiday music or follower of theatrical singers and composers

This cd is extraordinary! I sometimes listen to it other times of the year because Linda's voice is so great. Silent Night sounds like an angel singing it...unbelievable! I am buying more to send to friends and relatives this Christmas!

Great singer--wish she would sing more Christmas songs! I will have to hear her other albums. Thanks for sharing your talent with the world. God blessed you with a fantastic voice!

Arguably Americas' premier female vocalist, Linda Eder released a classic Christmas recording in every sense of the word with "Christmas Stays The Same". Her unmatched vocals not withstanding, it is the beautiful and unique arrangements of these tried and true seasonal melodies, combined with Lindas' spectacular voice, that make virtually every one of the standards on this collection her very own. If possible, the three original numbers, "Christmas Stays The Same", "Christmas Through A Child's Eyes" "with lyrics penned by Ms. Eder herself, in tribute to her own son", and the hauntingly beautiful but rarely heard "Bells of St. Paul", stand apart from the rest of the material here, and are as deserving a place in the annual parade of contemporary Christmas standards as Maria Careys' "All I Want For Christmas", Bruce Springsteens' "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town", and The Carpenters' "Merry Christmas Darling". Without question, one of the geatest Christmas recordings of all time!

This is a great Cd from the opening note to the closing one. She has so much emotion in her singing. This should be in everyones Christmas collection. I predict that this will be a cd that will be remembered for many years to come.

With a voice like none other, Linda Eder's newest release, ''Christmas Stays The Same'' is the perfect touch for any collection - either that of her own, or Christmas music. Thirteen heartwarming and classic pieces are elegently sung by this amazing theatrical voice - and how theatrical, indeed! With two brand new songs by her husband, composer Frank Wildhorn, ''Christmas Stays The Same'' is one that will remain ''the same'' in your household music collection for many holiday seasons to come!

This is Linda at her best. Her voice soars in this album. My favorites are Here Comes Santa Claus / Santa Claus is Comin' to Town, Do You Hear What I Hear?, Silent Night, and Ave Maria. She sings my personel favorite Christmas carol, Silent Night, with such beauty, I feel as if I could cry.

The beautiful 'Christmas Stays the Same' is destined to become a Christmas classic, in the same vein as 'The Christmas Song.' Linda Eder is truly a fantastic voice - have enjoyed her music since first hearing her sing. This entire CD is wonderful!
