    Highly Recommended - thought provoking

The Christmas Stone raises memories about the importance of family relationships. The story reviews the truth that each person has both a positive and a negative impact at different times of life. But, there is always hope to have a positive impact. Planning to read the book over a few days, I found myself saying "one more chapter". As a result, the book was completed in one reading. I definitely recommend this book to all readers.

    When Tragedy Falls, Hope Arises

What I like about Christmas Stone:

*It's a short story that can easily be ready when the holiday season is already so full
*I really related to the characters in the book. A young female, trying to find her place in this world, and a man in the middle of his life who realizes what's important in life.
*Carlston's written illustrations are easy to capture. Also her plot/idea of taking me as a reader from tragedy to hope was great!

Thinking about getting this for my neighbor Christmas gifts this year. Not only do they get something but I believe proceeds from the book are donated to a Utah Children's hospital.

    A great message!

I enjoyed reading this book very much! As a 20-something that's heavily involved in her career, I empathized with and enjoyed the main character, Claire, in her journey to rediscover what's really important in life. Also, I loved that she is tall, like me! Carlston tells a compelling story, with characters that I liked a lot. Two thumbs up!

A Must-Have for the Christmas Holiday

I obtained a pre-release copy of The Christmas Stone which I thoroughly enjoyed as a light read, but more importantly felt well nourished and uplifted by it's underlying message. I would recommend this book to anyone who needs a little hope around the Christmas season or any season at all. Everyone needs a stone of healing. I was also impressed that all author royalties will be donated to Primary Children's Medical Center located in Salt Lake City, Utah, one of the finest children's hospital's in the West. That alone makes this worth buying a copy in itself. Five stars.

    A Little Christmas Gem!!!

The Christmas Stone by Liz Carlston
Claire, a young and very successful businesswoman, is headed back to her childhood hom in Wisconsin to visit her parents, especially her father, who is in the hospital. It has been years since she has seen her parents, as her career has been more important.
Daniel, who left his wife and young son years earlier, is on his way to Wisconsin to see his son and ex-wife to ask for her forgiveness.
As Claire and Daniel's flight crash-lands in the icy Lake Michigan, they all learn just how fragile life can truly be and that Christmas can be the time for love, redemption, healing and second chances.
When Daniel gives Claire a special magic stone to carry after the crash, neither knows how magical that stone will be.
The Christmas Stone is that little gem of a story that will bring you closer to what Christmas is all about. I absolutely love Christmas stories and you will love this little book as well.
