More About This Book

Overview

On the changing checkerboard of Christmasville, buildings and homes are rearranged annually. The calendar consists of only two pages: December and January. But no one gets any older. And the worst of ailments is poison ivy, and color blindness, and signs of that most harrowing of afflictions: partial blindness.
No one knows where the trains go or what lies beyond the mountains and forests. They've never seen grass or walnut trees, but they do discover how tomatoes are named. And roses and violets and orchids.
In a town nestled between magic and miracle, dream and deja vu, Mary Jane Higgins embarks on a series of perilous journeys, determined to resolve the enigma of Christmasville. Although it's forbidden, she crosses train tracks, approaches the bottomless abyss, travels through a wilderness that "operates according to a different set of rules."
Could Mary Jane's suspicions be true? Could the town in which she resides be a Christmas village, situated on a 4 x 8 model train platform?

    A great read.

Christmasville has become one of my favorite books. Mary Jane's story is imaginative, fun, and thought provoking. This book would make a great gift for adults or children. My thanks to Michael Dutton for sharing this wonderful story.

A Magical Book for the Holidays!

A magical book that brought out incredible childhood memories. The will make it's way to Hollywood for a wonderful holiday movie release. (Ron Howard material) Can't wait for the next Michael Dutton masterpiece so the magic can continue! Great to read with the Jim Brickman Homecoming holiday CD in the backround.

    Christmasville

Michael Dutton has written a wonderful new Christmas classic to be shared with your family year after year. 'Mary Jane', our heroine, is determined to solve the mystery of Christmasville that very few people have even noticed, no matter what everyone else in town may think of her mental status. Her strength and determination are inspirational. Mr. Dutton has an incredible imagination and gift for storytelling

    A fantastic novel

This is one of the better novels that I've read. It's very visual and I think that just about any age group (maybe 14 & up) would thoroughly enjoy the adventures of Mary Jane as she figures out what's beyond the town of Christmasville.
